We just got here from spending 6 years in Los Angeles, and we want something out of the Catalan cuisine for an special night, so we choose Mexican(we love Mexican food). We look around and we found that the Chamaco is close nearby so it was an easy choice, and the reviews at the moment(2) were great. We had a table pretty easy, the restaurant was pretty full a good sign. We got the complementary chips and salsa. Salsa was ok but most of the chips were broken. The chef should use them for the chicken tortilla soup(not present in the menu). We ordered some fajitas and two margaritas. No body asked if we wanted the margaritas on the rocks or blended, we got them blended and I am thinking it was lemon frosty with a hint of tequila instead of margarita. But the worst was to come. When the fajitas came the salad came with carrot and olives, things I’ve never seen served in a Mexican in LA. The portion was small, the salsa was minuscule and my beef fajita was completely burnt. The tortilla was black burnt and the meat was dry. Simply bad cooked. The guy came and ask us how it was, and I lied, but our faces make him invite us to a margarita. First and last time for us.

Chamaco beach party restaurant is part of the attraction I have to visiting the beautiful Malgrat de mar. I travel to Malgrat de mar, Spain about three times each summer, and my first order of business is always to loiter around Chamaco beach. The restaurant serves amazing Mexican food. It is the only Mexican food I ever eat when living in England, except it’s in Spain. The food is nothing short of amazing. I always order the large Mexican steak(this is not the correct name for it) I had a hard time finding the menu on-line. The tacos are always crispy. The chips and home made salsa are perfectly fried and salsa is always so fresh. It is hard not to stuff yourself with their chips and salsa. Their pollo is amazing. I always order a giant sized serving of guacamole and it is to die for! Drinks are also amazing. They have a great selection of Mexican beers. Many of the beers are also on tap. Service is friendly and served with the smile. I met the owner, I told him I was a huge fan and his establishment is why I crave going to that particular part of Spain. The often have world class electronic DJs who spin during the day and night. They have a great lounge area(check out my pictures). I got a massage there and the massage was one of the most gentle and effective massages I’ve ever had, I had a huge sports injury from lifting and couldn’t turn my neck to the left, 60 minutes with their masseuse and I felt like a new person. She got the lactic acid out of my neck, my sports injury was no more. She was very careful when massaging me, didn’t let any of my lady bits show. There is nothing more relaxing then getting a massage on the beach. Chamaco also has boat parties, which I can’t wait to attend! World class DJs I’ve witness who have graced Chamaco’s decks include DJ Obek and DJ Marsal Ventura. I love DJ Obek’s progressive house! I’m hoping to book my next trip to Spain soon so I don’t miss out on anymore of Chamaco’s crazy beach parties! It is where the beautiful people of Spain go to see and be seen.
