This place is definitely over-rated! Maybe we ordered the wrong items, but since the waiter recommended the fish special and ensured that it didn’t have any skin on it I highly doubt it. I felt lied to and after it was apparent my girlfriend did not enjoy it at all, the waiter offered a free dessert. We didn’t want any more food from this place and he should have taken the fish of the bill. I ordered the Boneless Leg of Lamb and that was not good either. It was really, really chewy. The only good takeaways from this place is the nice, outdoor seating and the prawn appetizer was really good.

Being a popular tourist destination, Marbella offers some excellent dining experiences. Over my trips, I’ve found excellent Michelin starred food from Restaurant Skina down a little side street through to the opulent Calima Dani Garcia as well as ambitious molecular gastronomy upcomers like Restaurant Messina It can be harder to find authentic and value for money meals in the main tourist areas like the Old Town. However, look hard and you can sort out the wheat from the chaff One such gem is Tempora located in the heart of the Old Town. When I visited, it was lovely to eat al fresco in the warm breeze of a Marbella evening Being in Spain, my request for freshly squeezed orange juice was met with no problems Two canapes arrived first — tomato soup given an unusual but pleasant zing of raspberry and a fresh salmon tartare My starter was a no brainer as foie gras is one of my must order ingredients on a menu. There was a generous amount of grilled foie gras served with truffled cauliflower cream and mollet egg. Perhaps not traditional ingredients for Spain but a delicious combination A melon and mango palate cleanser arrived before my main of boneless rack of lamb with couscous. This was an amazing dish with moist, succulent flavourful meat. There is a talented chef in this kitchen, who doesn’t rely on technological wizardry or gimmicks but uses cooking skills to combine and turn great ingredients into even better dishes I didn’t have space for a dessert but the ones I saw on neighbouring tables looked inviting! Tempora ranges far and wide in its search for ingredients and inspiration but you can be confident of a great result on the plate

This is a very small restaurant with outstanding food and service. Set in one of the streets of the old town the restaurant has a rustic charm and intimate atmosphere. The food is styled on Spanish cuisine whilst drawing in some Italian and Eastern influences. Our waiter couldn’t do enough for us and one of the benefits of such a small restaurant was the attentive service. Food is served on slate tiles whilst a slightly eclectic 80s music collection played in the background. I can thoroughly recommend the Veal Tonnata, Roast Lamb, and the Crepes with rum and ice cream.
