I expected more from an Irish bar. Expensive drinks, no noticeable food, and not so friendly service except for Anna, the only Spaniard working in the place. It is nice enough, but the men working there are distant, cold, and provide less than average service, having to nearly beg for a drink while they cater to their countrymen. My experiences in Ireland were much different, much more positive. € 4.80($ 5.25) for a pint of Smithwick’s when The Irishman near the port charges just € 4 for a superior pint of IPA, I preferred being by the sea and saving a dollar. Their Happy Hour is the best reason to visit, but ask what is half-price before you order as NOTEVERYTHINGIS2FORONE as their adverts claim. Anna is a breath of fresh air even though she is somewhat superficial and does not necessarily follow through with her promises, but her service is top notch. She will make you feel welcome even though she may not be sincere. I have been in rural and urban pubs in Ireland where I was made to feel welcome and paid a fair price … Claddagh Irish Bar, unfortunately, falls short on both accounts. Ah yes, the Claddagh. Let me begin by saying that as americans we were fish out of water in Marbella and specifically in an irish bar in marbles. The beer was cold, the prices were about normal, and it was nice to have a little hominess while away in spain. The star is taken away because of the entertainment. Some guy that sang songs with recorded music coming from a squeaky box in a very loud fashion. We were very comfortable before he started, but had to leave after a few songs, it was just too loud and not good. Pop in for a guinness and sit way in the back rather than the bar and you might have a better experience.
