Decided to try this place out primarily because it was on a rooftop, and we had read some flattering reviews on . We arrived for dinner around 8:30pm, and there were plenty of open tables for our party of two. The hostess told us to sit anywhere we liked. To drink, I ordered a strawberry mojito, which was tasty and refreshing. My boyfriend had a pint of Strongbow cider, which he really enjoyed as it has the apple flavor without excessive sweetness. We shared the combo appetizer to start which came with garlic bread, fried mushrooms, fried chicken strips, fried scampi, and onion rings. It was a LOT of fried food, and none of it seemed to be seasoned at all, so it was pretty bland and unremarkable. For an entrée, we shared the grilled salmon which was cooked well and had a nice dill butter garnish. The French fries it came with were pretty standard, and the steamed vegetable were kind of soft and soggy. For dessert, we had a chocolate mousse served in a little jam jar. It was cute presentation, and the mousse itself reminded me of a partially baked cake batter in all the right ways. Our server was adequately attentive. As far as the view, which was our original reason for choosing Barboru– it was a nice place to take a sunset photo… but I’m not sure the food was worth it. I might suggest just having a drink here for the high view and then having dinner elsewhere in the plaza.

Had a great ribeye and salad. New premises are much better. Owner Brian is a bit stiff at timrs.
