I visited La Oliva with some mates and again with my boyfriend. Its location is great at the northern tip of Las Canteras beach. They have a large patio area for outdoor dining. Their offerings can be a bit pricey on the weekend, so I recommend going on a weekday. If you’re planning on going during the weekend, I’d also recommend making a reservation. Locals actually eat here. Food: I had heard good things about the menu del dia. During my first visit, we could only order a la carte because it was the weekend. We shared the avocado salad with tuna and all types of raw veggies. It was nice to have something that wasn’t fried and without potatoes, especially since I ordered fried calamari with fries for my entrée XD. The calamari was not as crispy as I am used to but it tasted very fresh. The serving size was large. My one criticism of that meal was that the lemons served with the seafood were not yet ripe. The staff was very patient with our group. We stayed for a total of three hours. Before leaving Las Palmas I wanted to try the menu del dia, so I ventured north on a sunny day. My boyfriend ordered a chickpea stew for his first course and due to some confusion and miscommunication received some type of broth with noodles. I ordered a veggie purée, grilled sardines, and the panna cotta. I was happy with each of my courses. None of them were too heavy. I really enjoyed the grilled sardines with papas arugadas. I hadn’t tried the green mojo sauce that they were served with before. I may like it more than red mojo sauce! The menu del dia is 9,50 with an option for a large beer for 1,20 more.

Nice fish and simple but tasty salads. Don’t try the bread. Awesome views, good chocolate cake.

The bread was like a sponge. And when we asked for alioli we got commercial-made one time packs which tasted horrible! Rest of food was nothing special, but the place has some nice views
