Cantina Don Rafael

This place is very popular. We only waited 5 minutes for a table at dinner time. The starters were really good. We had fried prawns with chilli sauce, chicken wings and jalapeño filled with cream cheese. For mains we had the fish kebab and chicken fajitas. All the dishes are presented well. The food is priced normally. The restaurant is on this main strip and easy to get to.

Good Mexican food, wonderful service (even during rush hour) and reasonably priced. On of the better restaurant on the puerto del carmen boulevard.

Restaurant mexicano que en realidad es «de todo» porque tiene carnes, pizzas y pasta y además platos mexicanos o mejor dicho, tex-​mex. El servicio es excelente, la comida mexicana turística, no la real, pero bien preparada. La decoración también es México for export, parece un restaurant típico de la zona hotelera de Cancún. Las porciones son abundantes y los precios razonables.

General ordinary run of the mill type of typical restaurant on the main strip. However the chicken fajitas are well worth the € 7.30 lunch, but I find the helping is so large that you’ll need to share with someone! Now you can’t argue with a filling lunch for that price as you nip across the road from the lovely beach!
By sheer accident we ate in a lovely Mexican type restaurant the other night just around the corner in Calle Doramas also called Don Rafael, but only to discover that it was very cleverly linked to the Cantina on the front but decorated in a more upmarket way. Food here was very good and service wonderful but steer clear of the half roasted chicken which appears to come without the breast section!
