Tambo

An extreme scenic place located on the outer rocks of Punta Brava. High waves are crashing on the boulders and surfers are riding their flanks.
A few tables are situated on a narrow passage which also serves as a foot-​passage around Punta Brava.
On the blackboard guests find a list of the freshest fish in an extreme varity. The fish-​tank is home of crusteans like rock-​lobsters, crayfish, crabs and other delicathies. If guests request somthing special, the chef will definately try to fullfill their whishes.
We went there twice a week. We became dependant.

Imagine a table with the perfect view of the beach. Imagine the sound of waves crashing just below you. Imagine the freshest seafood pulled right from the deep Atlantic. Now stop imagining and reserve a seat at Tambo.
Literally the last spot on a the spit of Punta Brava, Tambo offers everything you’d ever want from a traditional seafood shack. On a recent visit we made a reservation based on a recommendation and loved it so much, we had to come back for lunch the very next day. The first night we order the fresh fish platter for two — an unbelievable amount of whole and fileted fish as fresh as can be – including Parrot Fish, Bonito, Langostines and more. Tambo is incredibly reasonable for the quality and portions and the view from the restaurant patio is absolutely priceless.
On our return trip we had the seafood Paella, again advertised for two but could have easily fed four. The paella took 45 minutes to make, which gave us the chance to polish off a carafe of house-​made Sangria and take in the sea view.
Tambo is an absolute must for anyone staying in the sleepy resort town of Puerto de la Cruz. You can’t miss it, just head to the south end of Playa Jardin and keep following the sound of the waves and promise of the freshest fish you might ever taste.
