Touristic place (you can by accessoires of café del mar there), no good music, not like you would expect e beauchclub.

Open from 4pm until midnight I would say that if you are visiting Ibiza you have to visit this place. It has been open for 25 years now in the bay of Caló des Moro in San Antonio and is part of the reason why people go to Ibiza. There are light sandwiches on the menu, although most people order Sangria, Champagne or other drinks and listen to the chillout music until the sun goes down. They played ‘The Sound of Silence’ while the sun set on Sunday when we were there. Iconic atmosphere all around while people take sunset selfies and applaude the sunset. Ideal place to take a break from clubbing. We were lucky to get a table just after 7:30pm, during summer months it would probably be essential to book a table. Prices are reasonable enough for food and drinks. Around 7 Euro for a glass of wine and 12 – 15 Euro for food

Das legendäre Café del Mar. Ich will ganz ehrlich sein: ich hatte keine Ahnung, dass das Ding auf Ibiza steht und wusste auch sonst nichts drüber. Aber wenn man dann nun mal schon auf der Insel ist und dann die Stadt besucht, in der das Café beheimatet ist, dann muss man sich ja fast schon hinsetzen, einen Drink bestellen und den Sonnenuntergang geniessen. Ich hatte zwar keine Vorstellungen von dem Lokal, aber die wurden nicht erfüllt: es ist nämlich eigentlich ein ganz normales Café mit Terrasse, wo man entspannt sitzen und chillen kann, mich chiquem Ibizaflair hat das nicht unbedingt was zu tun. Die Preise sind natürlich hoch, aber es hält sich noch irgendwie im Rahmen. Und das Flair sowie den Sonnenuntergang zu geniessen und dabei das Treiben auf der Promenade zu geniessen macht durchaus Spaß — deshalb vier Sterne.

Ambiance is great! Beautiful spot for a sunset. The café del mar drink is deliciously yummy. One of the better on the menu. I ordered the ensalada Mediterraneana and it was pretty good. The tuna on the salad was VERY fishy. I felt like it was not worth 16 euros. Should have been better quality fish since there was so much sushi on the menu. I would say this restaurant is top notch only for drinks and atmosphere, however I’m not opposed to give it another try.

Café del mar was always on my list of places to go ever since I was a kid, I have been to the island on several occasions but never had the chance to ventured to café del mar.
This place is very much aimed to the clubbing scene & tourists who flock to see the sunset, and I’m sad to say that I’ve seen better sunsets in Scotland.
The building is amazing inside, nicely decorated, and the toilets probably the nicest I’ve seen in a long time.
Large patio area outside for drinks or food, but do check the prices before you order as the drinks are very expensive.

One of the best locations to watch the sunset is here. We were on our way to Café Mambo which is right next door, but this place was less crowded at the time we arrived so we opted to go there instead. I really enjoyed the music here more than Café Mambo, they did a great job coordinating the music with each passing minute as the sun went down, the beat was chilled, fun, hip & sexy. We chose so sit outside facing the water so we could get a good view of the sunset, we were told we had to spend at least 45 euros pp, which we did easily. Everything is a bit pricey, from the food to drinks but we were already prepared for that so it didn’t surprise us. I have to say it was worth every penny to enjoy a nice evening there for drinks and the scenery, something I will always remember on my first trip to Ibiza.
*Tip: If you don’t want to spend the dough, there’s plenty of spots along the water right in front of Café Mambo and Café Del Mar. There were tons of people sitting out there waiting for the spectacular view. Plus it’s free and you can take your own drinks there save yourself some dough. :)

Este es mi lugar favorito de toda la isla de Ibiza. Si, estoy de acuerdo, Ibiza se regocija de su éxito gracias a su amplia gama de discotecas pero aquí en el Café del Mar no te puedes olvidar una de las mejores puestas del sol del mundo. Se encuentra en el norte de la isla, precisamente en San Antoni, lugar lleno de turistas ingleses. Es un encanto sentarse en las rocas de la playa o en el bar mirando el sol que deja el cielo escondiendose mientras tomamos una cerveza escuchando musica chillout, te relaja y te hace olvidar los problemas que cada dia invaden nuestras cabezas. Hay siempre un montón de gente y por la noche te puedes quedar lo mismo en el Café del Mar porque también es un bar de copas maravilloso aunque un poquito caro.

You’re in Ibiza… that means you better get ready to cough up some dough and this place is no exception. Prices were over the top. I mean 35 euros for 15 pieces of sushi (something like that anyway). I was on tour and our tour manager said this was a great place to dine while you watched the sunset. Well if it was for the ambiance alone I would give this place 5 stars. The music was fun the view was breathtaking and the people were just anxious for the party. People clap when the sun finally sets. Can’t say I’ve ever witnessed that anywhere else in the world.
Anyways, back to the restaurant… the menu was ok, me and my friends decided to just split a sushi platter. The server ended up messing up our order and when the bill came they wanted to charge us 35 more euros for essentially ONE piece of sushi. 35 euros. thats like 45 US DOLLARS for ONE piece of sushi. Thankfully I am one of those people that takes pictures of their food/​plate before devouring them. If it hadn’t been for my photo we wouldnt have been able to prove that they messed up our order and underserved us the correct portion. The server was more annoyed than anything about the situation. She did fix it for us but we had to argue with her a bit about it. I’m not saying I would never go back to this place because like I said the place was amazing, but I would definitely keep an eye out when you place your order and receive it. Make sure your bill makes sense before you throw your euros or credit cards down.
I do hope to visit this place again with money to cough up because the location alone was fantastic. Hopefully my experience will be a better one.

Local mítico dónde los haya en la Isla Blanca!
Puesta de sol hay miles y lugares preciosos para verlas también, pero un local con tanta historia y relevancia en Ibiza, no!
A día de hoy hay dos locales de Café del Mar, uno el de toda la vida y otro más moderno que es restaurante, el que mola de verdad es el de toda la vida, inaugurado el 20 de Junio de 1980 y decorado por Lluis Guell.
Todo el mundo quiere ver la puesta de sol desde la terraza, pagando el módico precio de consumición mínima de 35 € si quieres estar en primera linea, pero nadie entra al local, así que para llevar la contraria me tomé algo dentro y me encantó.
Tiene una decoración peculiar, mezclando formas, azulejos y colores como el blanco, azul, rosa o amarillo.
Las consumiciones no son baratas, obviamente, pero para una vez vale la pena!
Mi consejo: tómate algo dentro, disfruta de la decoración y a la hora de la caída del sol aléjate a la zona de las rocas, huye de la masificación y el postureo y disfruta del ocaso!

Decent spot with a nice sunset view. However, you can get the same sunset view and a drink at many more places on the island. Only tourists come here. There is absolutely nothing about this place that is worth going out of your way to come here, just my two cents.

«Touristenattraktion» mit Frontrow Preisen von 45 € Mindestverzehr zum Sonnenuntergang. Geht garnicht. Viel zu laute Musik, was nichts mit chilligem Sonnenuntergangsfeeling a la Café del Mar Musik zu tun hat. Preise überteuert und nervige CoronaMerchandise Verkäuferinnen. Schade eigentlich.

Absoluter Wucher.
Dass cdm nicht günstig ist war mir klar-​7 € für ein Bier ist aber schon übertrieben. Essen ist nicht gut (billigpizza in den Ofen –fertig) meine King pawns waren innen noch gefroren (10 € für ca 9 Stk.). Wir haben 45 min auf das essen warten müssen und die Bedienung war total unfreundlich. Wir waren grade 2 min mit dem essen fertig sollten wir bezahlen und wieder gehen! Andere wollen ja auch noch was trinken. absolutes nogo. Musik ist so laut dass man sich anschreien muss. Die Läden daneben sind günstiger und besser vom essen.
Den Sonnenuntergang hat das cdm nicht alleine. Gibt noch genug andere lokale an der Promenade die den gleichen Blick haben. Hier macht es nur der Name… geht dran vorbei und setzt euch daneben.

Este es uno de los bares más famosos de Ibiza y probablemente del mundo entero. Está ubicado en la localidad de San Antoni de Portmany y es un «must» si nunca has estado en Ibiza… Es el sitio más popular donde ir a ver la espectacular puesta de sol de la isla mientras tomas algo tranquilamente y escuchas la música que el local ha seleccionado especialmente para ese momento. He de decir que la primera vez que estuve en el Café del Mar, hace unos 12 años, me llegué a emocionar… El único motivo por el que no le pongo las 5 estrellas es porque para mi gusto se ha vuelto demasiado comercial, y cuando vas tienes que ir con el tiempo suficiente para coger buen sitio (sobretodo si vais unos cuantos amigos y os queréis sentar juntos, ya que hasta el suelo, lleno de rocas, está lleno de gente). De todas formas, lo recomiendo ya que lo entiendo como uno de los iconos de esta maravillosa isla, y al menos se ha de ir una vez.

Café del Mar is a bar located at San Antoni de Portmany. It’s a must go location when visiting Ibiza. Best time to come is in the late afternoon to watch the spectacular sunsets which is what this place is known for. Grab a drink, enjoy the moment, chill along the waterfront, watche the sunset under the shaded canopies, and enjoy the music amongst groups of beautiful people.
Café del Mar is also know for it’s relaxing complilations of laid back electronic music. Along the walkway is a music store that sells CDs.
I’ll always remember this place watching the sailboats with the sunset in the background. (Someone get me a cigarette. I don’t even smoke!).
