On our last day in Spain we were looking in the Santa Cruz nabe for a place to have a good lunch to tide us over for the flight back to the state, but the place we wanted to go to was full. We found Mamá a block away among many bodegas, etc. we saw them serve a beautiful salad to a diner outside and decided to go in. Great choice! Very real, local ingredients, total respect for tradition, but nonetheless great imagination. We started with jamon iberico and anchovies, then had the tataki duck and suckling pig. Wow! Staff super friendly and helpful. One of the best meals we had in two weeks of great eating in Spain.

Charming lunch at Mama Bistro. Our tried and true was packed so we decided to try something new. Started with the strawberry and goat cheese salad, which was absolutely amazing. Hubby went with the couscous; I went with the shrimp tempura sushi roll. The couscous was good, if not a bit bland, but the sushi roll was not good at all. Rice was way too sweet and significantly overcooked(mushy) — I would not recommend it. The couple next to us ordered the tangine, which was on special. they devoured it and stated it was one of the best they’d ever had. Service was super friendly and they all speak excellent English.

Marina, our friend spotted this the day before and was eager to try it. So on a Sunday afternoon, slightly tired and hungover we(OH, Marina and I) popped by and grabbed a table. The menu was intriguing. The taster bread was amazing! Warm bread rolls, little perfect rolls! We had a couple of dishes each but all in all we were so happy to have tried this place, It’s definitely a gem! Next up was desserts, and boy that was treat too. Tiramisu was so nice. OH had something lemony — which he really enjoyed as its was sharp and to his tastes. The house wine was good, I had this which OH and Marina had beer. Seville — you should totally do this place! A little place with a twist on tapas in a way you wouldn’t expect. Anyone heading should also try and book a table, ok we walked in but I think we were lucky!

Mediterranean/Italian place that stands out on a street of tapas bars and pizza places. This is a great place if you are looking for a real restaurant to sit and spend some time. Food: complementary bread rolls and small appetizer were good. We ordered the sliced Iberian ham and cheese platter, which had cool garnishes and was unique. Salad with pineapple and shrimp was refreshing. The risotto with pumpkin, ham and black truffle was great! Crème brûlée was yum. Portions were big so these were all shared between two people and we left stuffed. Service: great. Multilingual Spanish/English/Italian(at least), we overheard all of these languages at our neighbor tables. Waiters suggested good wines and were attentive. From the outside it looks like a small place but the inside is very deep and there are lots of tables. It stands out as the place with a big chandelier inside. Not the cheapest place in Sevilla but highly recommended!
