Amazing place, private atmosphere, sooo friendly staff, they have got their own beer from 10 to 20 (degrees) and good food

Good food, the duck was done really nice, but the cabbage was too sour for me, it is only my opinion. The atmosphere is quite ok, looks like an ordinary czech pub, dont expext any magic. The great thing is, that it is non smoking. The service could be better as well. I have reserved a table for two, but we had to sit with another couple, so I was not so excited. Some czech news wrote, that it is a great place for such a price, and this is true. I give 4 out of 5.

We really enjoyed the duck in this restaurant, and planed to go once more before we leave Prague. You definitely don’t want to miss it.

I’ve learned a little more about Czech food and beer. The dumplings were traditional houskovým knedlíkem, made from pieces of bread not unlike what we call French toast in the US. No fruit or olives! The beer was actually not off — that’s what the style should taste like.

Even though the waiter was quite confused about the availability of the meals, but in the end we got what we wanted. In my case it was an amazing schnitzel so big, that the potato salad had to hide behind it (you guesses it, the plate was too small for it)! It’s not called Sloni Ucho (The Elephant’s Ear) for nothing.
Also, they have a big variety of good beers on tap, including their own thyme/​rosemary flavoured craft beer.
Bonus for fans of Aldous Huxley: they have a live mynah bird in here, even though I did not hear him say anything. The little bugger.

Stylova, ceska nekuracka hospoda a minipivovar. Ocenujem siroku ponuku tradicnych i menej tradicnych chutoviek k pivu, domacu vyrobu pastek, vyborny kozi syr a chrumkavy chleba. Uzasna lokalnu atmosfera praveho pivovaru!

Das U Bansethu existierte schon zu Ostblockzeiten und war früher eine typische tschechische Arbeiterkneipe. Urgemütlich, leckeres Bier und gehaltvolles, günstiges Essen. Nach der Wende renoviert und unverändert gemütlich war das Bansethu nach wie vor ein Geheimtip, da kaum von Touristen besucht und nach wie vor sehr urig. Doch irgendwie ist das Bansethu in den letzten Jahren wohl zu erfolgreich geworden. Essensqualität deutlich schlechter und vorallem konstant unfreundliche Bedienungen. Danke, das kann ich in der Prager Innenstadt auch haben. Nach vielen Jahren als Stammgast habe ich mich nun entschlossen nicht mehr dorthin zu gehen.

Went there during lunch and at frist glance it looked like a nice prospect. But the food was rather disappointing. The meatballs in my soup weren’t sautéd, just boiled, and the svickova had too little sauce (which was thicker than it should be), while the meat wasn’t as tender as I had hoped for. Didn’t try their beer unfortunately.
