What’s not to love about this art house cinema? They do so many fun things — from one-off classic film screenings, to first-run blockbusters, to eclectic festivals, plus lots of in-house fun, like Baby Bio(morning screenings with reduced sound volume and lighting, for parents who have been cooped up in the house forever and desperately need a break but can’t get a sitter), Bio Senior(mid-morning cheap screenings for oldsters on a budget), simulcasts of performances of NYC’s Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Shakespeare Company, London’d National Theatre live, various national Ballet companies, and so much more. Plus really good beer and a fun chill out area.

Interesting, sort of alternative movie theatre, however, showing in addition to different«festival» movies, mass market productions which also simultaneously go on in the chain theatres like Cinema City or Cinestar. The seats are, of course, less convenient comparing the above mentioned modern places, but the atmosphere makes up for it: Bio Oko is a classical old movie theatre which brings you back into the middle of the 20th century when going to watch a movie was a bit more of a special occasion than now and the audience was less demanding to general comfort of a place and details of its interior. Bio Oko café has a decent choice of drinks including usual tea, coffee, wine and beer, and a few small snacks in case you get too hungry. But for a proper meal I would definitely recommend to go somewhere else. Majority of visitors belongs to a so-called«bohemian» artistic group which adds to a special environment of this place.
