This has recently become my new favorite place to go to. Located in Žižkov that means It’s far enough away from the city center to escape the touristy bars and mingle with Czech residents. They have killer long islands there, I recommend getting one even if you’re not too keen on them. They also do no accept card so make sure you bring cash because there are no ATMs close to it.

Great atmosphere, can be a bit crowded so get there early. Decent prices on beer. The neighborhood isn’t phenomenal however once you get inside you’ll love the artsy feel

Tired of hanging out at my usual dive, I wandered around around Zizkov looking for something different and happily stumbled across this place. I was a little wary at first. as I am not a fan of his writing. However, the minute I entered I was in love. Small, dark, smokey, an amazing drinks selection, and wonderfully diverse this is the perfect late night watering hole. The prices are a little pricey, especially for beer, but it is totally worth it. The bartenders are lovely, helping with ordering in Czech for us Ex-Pats who are working on the local lingo. There is a great span of age ranges too, most people looking to be in their late 20’s early 30’s. Also the music is kept at a level as to make it possible to have a conversation without screaming. I will definitely be heading back.

If you are looking for a good cocktail in a great atmosphere at 2 in the morning on Zizkov, Bukowski’s is the place. Although the menu is really hard to read in the dim candle light and cigarette smoke, you can be sure they will know your cocktail. You wont have time to read it anyways, because you will me mesmerized by the bottle chandelier, uneven bookshelf, provocative paintings and cinema seats! Dont try to order beer, they will serve it on a paper napkin ;)
