As far as museum cafes go, the food here is darn good, and the environment, with the soaring industrial ceilings and white cube spaciousness, makes for a really pleasant spot to relax. The hummus is first rate, as is the hot soup of the day and the tea service. I returned several times during my recent trip because of these positives. But what kills me is the service. This should be a counter-order place, not a table-waited experience! Or at least allow people to order from the counter, and then have waiters bring the desired items to the table. It makes no sense to have 2 waiters running themselves ragged around the big interior, trying to move food, deliver bills, and make change(cash only). It’s a painful experience for both customer and server! If you’re there during a peak time, plan to wait too long for every stage of your meal(menu, food delivery, bill delivery, change).

We ordered a hot chocolate, which is more like melted dark chocolate! Very strong! Then we had hummus and pita and that was delicious! The food being served looks lovely, they have homemade cakes and bread everything looks very delicious! The serving is a little slow, and there is a bit of waiting but not long! Nice little café to pop into for a quick snack!

Modern, spacious, lively. Great place to stop for a break after Veletržní palác. Coffee was also excellent. It was nearly full at 4pm on Friday.

I sometimes believe that certain sub cultures have certain symbols. In case of the hipster sub culture it is Club Mate. The drink made of carbonated and iced Mate Tea with a lot of sugar. It is made by a German company in Ansbach and has become the international sign for Hipster. So when I arrived at Café Jedna, one of the first things I noticed was that they sold Club Mate. The second thing that a hipster bar/café/pub has to offer is Gin Tonic. And again they had Gin Tonic with different types of Gin. The next thing that a hipster place needs is thousands of different coffee creations. And again I was agble to tick the box. Then obviously vegetarian, vegan and different types of artisan things. Again it ticked the boxes. Wifi? Yes there was wifi. A million different fresh teas? Yes. Quirky waitresses that floated in the wind were present too:) I could keep going… long story short it was the über hipster place even though it was the café of the national gallery in Prague. Anywhere else the café of the national gallery would be a boring place here it wasn’t. Even though the service wasn’t super efficient and there were some flaws here and there in the concept. It was a very friendly place. Would I travel through town just to get there? maybe not but it is definitely worth going there.
