About the restaurant: I’ve been stopping by Chez Amis for a quick bite of falafel or a pita kebab with hummus for years, so I am disappointed to note that the quality of the takeaway food has dropped — it’s not awful, but it no longer has that x-factor of a meal whose flavour transports your taste buds right into the fragrant Middle Eastern streets. That being said, the shop is still an excellent resource for numerous Middle Eastern ingredients and a good basic range of beauty products hard to find somewhere else. My favourite food products are their well priced hummus cans with tahini way above in quality to the stuff sold in our supermarket international aisle, the canned baba ganoush, and the spice mixes which I know from the States and have otherwise hard time finding here. As for the beauty products — aside from the traditional henna, it’s good to see the Vatika hair care brand shampoos and various oils. These kind of hair nourishment products are not much wanted and stocked across Prague, so it’s convenient to be able to get them right here in the center for an acceptable price.

I was really looking forward to this place because of the reviews. I went there and he gave me falafels, cous cous, spinach, and baba ganoush and WAAAY overcharged me. Considering the fact that there was no meat and he says he was closing, I expected something way more moderate. Will never go again when I’m in Prague or recommend to anyone.
