Sad to say I had high expectations for this place and it just did not deliver. It was not super hard to find, inside Pallidium on the top floor in the corner. Servers appear to be Lebonese but they also speaK czech and some english. The food was probably the most disappointing part. Falafel did not taste like normal falafel, it was a bit too vegetarian to taste. It came with 4 pieces, thats it! and for 140 crowns, so overpriced and not good enough for that price. If the falafel was amazing I would be willing to pay this price, but this situation was a huge no. We also ordered the hummus, which was bland, and rather small for a whopping 140 crowns for basically a very small cereal bowl size dish. Both of these dishes together would not be enough food for a normal person to eat for a meal, let alone the two of us. We ended up ordering some of their bread to also eat to fill up, which came out in three small pieces and were not homemade. They were basically out of a bag or something and were from white flour that tasted horrible. Don’t get me wrong I love bread, but I even put this one back. To top off my experience they also charge 55 crowns for about 5 ounces of juice! Gotta say, for the type of place it was, with such a nice interior and fancy waiters in nice clothes, as well as good reviews I really was expecting better food and better service. Won’t be coming back here.

Très bon accueil. Le personnel agréable et les plats de bonne qualité. Quantité plus qu’assez ! A faire

We are in Prague for a few days and our guide recommended El Emir. We are very glad he did. This was the best Middle Eastern food we’ve had in a very long time. The décor is beautiful, with lovely tables out in front as well as upstairs and down. We sat upstairs overlooking an indoor shopping gallery. We ordered dinner for two that included an appetizer plate with stuffed grape leaves, hummus and puréed aubergine as well as falafel and another falafel like dish with ground lamb. There was also tabbouleh and two different stuffed pastries, one with cheese and one with cheese.(Sorry I don’t know the names of all the dishes.). This was followed by a mixed grill with beef, lamb and chicken. Also, the meal started off with delicious pita bread(made in-house) and olives. We ordered a bottle of French Chardonnay which paired deliciously with the appetizer plate. The food was so delicious that we wanted to inhale it, but were encouraged to go slow and space things out. They didn’t grill the meat until we gave them the word. We ended with cappuccino and baklava. Delicious! Impeccable service and outstanding food. I wish we could eat there once a week! Oh, and I forgot to mention the live music!
