The cozy Inn inside the monastry offers home brewed bear and various czech meals. Service on very good level, reasonable fast. Better book the place on advance, its often booked.

This is probably my favorite restaurant in Prague. Take the 22 tram out to the Bresnovsky Klasterni stop and then walk over to the monastery. The décor is very rustic and the service is excellent. My first visit I had a duck breast dish and the second time I had an excellent creamy mushroom soup. The best part of this place is that they get fresh craft beer from the microbrewery across the courtyard. Try to make reservations beforehand because they get busy.

So I was looking forward to some great food on my first trip to Prague, and up until we discovered this place, the restaurant scene had been disappointing. Everyone here seems to be aiming for a Nouvelle Francais vibe, and let’s face it, you don’t need to fly all the way to Prague for that! As a tourist in Prague, this place is EXACTLY what I was hoping to find. Great rustic atmosphere, excellent food and service, ample portions, all in an intriguing historical setting. The pork ribs were to die for. Crispy, yet fall-off-the bone perfection. I wanted to grab dishes off the waiter’s tray every time he walked by with yet another tempting dish. Lots of locals eating here. They know.

Charming location inside the oldest monastery in Prague. A little bit of a trek, but worth the effort. They have a few tables outside and a cosy non smoking interior. They are baby friendly, with high chairs and a changing table. The food is authentically Czech, but a little pricy. Tasty beer which is different than most restaurants in town.

This was the best restaurant we had in Prague. It was a meat fest though, and the portion sizes are quite large and this is speaking from an American viewpoint. We tried the chicken skewers, pork knuckle, duck, steak one prime rib cut and one NY filet cut, chicken wings, and ribs. For sides we ordered roasted veggies and this fried pancake thing and this liver dish(I think from looking at my pictures) My favorite was probably the pork knuckle. I did not like the skewers because it wasn’t really seasoned and the chicken tasted dry, the ribs were OK, it wasn’t anything special. Steaks were good, but not as good as a high end steak house but better than your Outback type places. The roasted veggies were good, my friend Hae A. polished most of it off and we were even contemplating ordering a second one. At the end of our meal we were all very full, satisfied and happy. The location is a little out of the way, we had to take the bus from city center for almost 30 minutes before getting to the area, but definitely worth the time. They take reservations and it looks like most seats were reserved when we came.

The best restaurant in Prague but a bit out of the way. You will need to take the bus or taxi to get here. Almost everything we ordered was very good. The pork knuckle dish can probably serve 2 very hungry people, and is very good. The duck was dry and not that good. The skewer dish was also a miss. The steak was good. Just steak though. The ribs were very good. Ironically, everything the server recommended was not that good. It has been awhile since my visit, but I remember all of us enjoyed the food.

No matter where you live this restaurant makes the trip to Prague worth it by itself. We started with homemade bread and spreads(one with aubergines, one with sour cream and onion), which was on the house, complemented by goat cheese with some blueberry sauce. As for the main course, veprevo koleno(pork knee), we have had many types of pork meat before but nothing compares to the tenderness and exquisite flavour of this dish. The dark beer from local brewery that we had throughout all the dishes linked them all together but was delicious on its own. All in all this place is a must for everyone.

Visited here during our first trip to Prague. Generally, a really nice, out of the city center dining option with a genuine home-style feel. Quality of the dishes we had — mushroom soup, rabbit and ribs — were great. Excellent microbrew beer on tap. Wine list a bit short, but that’s acceptable. It’s a bit away from town but easily accessible by the metro line.
