Food was decent but nothing too exciting. Sausage appetizer was very good but, overall, we had better Czech food elsewhere for the same prices. Service was very lacking. He brought us the wrong order a couple times and instead of apologizing, he got mad at us. There are better options in Prague.

Your average Czech restaurant with your average Czech service and same food options as in all the Czech places. If you’re into that then great, you’ll love it! If not, don’t bother. The staff doesn’t really speak English and they will get mad at you if they misunderstood you each want 2 beers instead of one.

I have been here many times over the past several years and am now feeling a bit guilty about not writing a review a bit earlier. It seems that the ownership and ALL of the staff have changed. To be honest, one of the reasons I previously came here was to get food to go as one serving was always large enough for two of us. Under the new ownership the food has taken a bit of a different and somewhat healthier direction. It remains very tasty and the servings are generous, but there have been some sensible substitutions, for example a nicely seasoned salad and toast under the grilled pork neck(to soak up the delicious juice) instead of a pile of potatoes. One of the main reasons that I would take out is that the place is usually packed. Reservations are highly recommended, particularly for more than two people.

Best goulash in Prague! I prefer Pilsner, but Kozel(half dark, half blond) is a great beer! Love this place for it’s czech food, beer and location!

The other reviews that I could read seemed like this would be a good place. Wrong!!! The potato pancake was with great flavors mixed together. It was really really good. The soup just tasted like American chili – from a can. The goulash I had was bad and they had sprinkled some white stuff that I thought was cheese but ended up being horseradish… ewww ewww! Our waitress was not too keen on serving us even though the restaurant closed in an hour. She said we had five minutes to order and ran out smoked a cig and then came back in. The non smoking section is non air conditioning and it’s a hot day in Prague. The smokers are rewarded with Ac. My husbands duck was bad. The skin was good but the duck itself was«one of the worst I’ve ever had.» Sorry guys… If you come here… try the pancake and then keep going… The service sucks… bargaining with us about what to order. There are also lots of bugs here in the non smoking section… beware. Also credit card machine broken… another bad thing… especially because I don’t think it was broken… 29⁄100

Located just a few blocks from the Novy Smichov mall/Andel metro/Hotel General, this is a stylish pub serving really great Czech food. The interior is thoughtfully designed with fun deer motifs everywhere and it attracts a mainly Czech crowd. Tourists are certainly welcome and they do have a multi language menu. The food? Delicious! I had a schnitzel(two massive pieces) and a mountain of potato salad. Mister had a Smichov plate — three meats, a mound of kraut and two kinds of dumplings — at least 2lb of food. With a bunch of beers, our bill was kc500 — easily half of what it would have been in the center and about $ 28. Great value, delicious food, packed with locals and friendly service make Kozlovna a must stop!
