There is one day a month that you can get in for free– I forget the day, but you can look this up. I had no expectations going into the Palace, but the museum is really different. The family had an amazing collection of musical instruments and were patrons to many famous musicians of the time. If you’re interested in this type of thing, you might enjoy Lobkowicz Palace. The other displays are nice as well…:)

This small museum located within the Prague Castle complex was a complete surprise in the best possible way. The admission includes an audio guide narrated by the American branch of the Lobkowicz family — personal stories really make the collections come alive. Who hasn’t wanted to go into a castle and see really rich people’s awesome stuff? I have and this museum offers you the chance to do it. Family portraits, jewelry, porcelain and personal tokens are here — plus some world class art including a Velazquez and a Brueghel. Round it out with hand corrected music from Motzart and Beethoven and you have a greet small museum! The café serves up a delicious lunch with a beautiful view if you’re hungry.
