I had no idea the size of this place. I love bookstores. I’ve visited a lot of them around Europe but this, this tops on as one of the biggest I’ve seen. 4 floors to get lost in, books on every subject and all languages. Great prices too.

Like most other books stores, I shouldn’t be allowed in here without adult supervision. They have the best selection of cookbooks and magazines in English in the city. Plus, their selection of just regular books is pretty impressive too. While it is actually better than S&S, I miss the lovely independent bookstore feel when I am here, but sometimes you just need a great selection. It also has a great gifts selection. It is not my first bookstore choice, but I still go there at least once a week.

Especially if you’re looking for foreign publications of any kind, this is the place for you. They even have a pretty solid variety of German newspapers and magazins on floor –1. However I think I need to warn you. If you haven’t got time and just want to get a specific itemthe place is pretty much hell. The escalators from one floor to another aren’t above each other. Instead they are at all kinds of places and in hidden corners. As the isles are pretty chaotic as well it might well take you ten minutes to get from the ground floor to floor –2.

This place is awesome. Has any and every book you can imagine. Has split up sections for english, also a large selection as well as newer books which is nice. They have books in many other languages as well, guidebooks for just about everywhere, cookbooks from all over the world, journals and notebooks too. They have sale tables often that books are marked down to 150 czech and are brand new. I will say their prices on normal books tend to be higher then what I feel the books are worth(a book printed with 8.99 Euro on the back will sell here for 350 czk, which equals about 13 euros, and up. So in other words then tend to mark up the prices in their favor. As long as you know that you’re paying for convenience and quality though your experience here will be great. No matter what you are looking for you can always find it here, and no other bookstore I have been to in Prague can touch the amount of books this place has. It’s about the same size as the main public library in prague– 4 floors.
