If you are having bad pizza here you are not ordering the diavalo pizza. Its simple just order it and recognize greatness. Hopefully you get Dino as your server because he makes the experience. Dude knows his pizza.

Good late night spot after a long day of walking and evening bar hopping. Only reason for the 3 instead of 4 stars is the atmosphere. Poor ventilation combined with chain smokers made staying longer than a few slices unbearable. Took leftovers and had a good lunch next day. Couldn’t find anything open near the hotel and front desk recommended. Short walk from hotel, fast friendly service(even at 2am). Got the spicy salami pizza, which was a flavorful pepperoni pie.

We’d been out all day sight-seeing, snacking, drinking and had come home to take a nap, awakening late and thus decided to try a spot near the apartment we were renting. Our host had recommended this as one of a few late night spots, and since it is open 24⁄7 — and we like pizza — and it was so close — the odds seemed ‘ever in our favor.‘ We got there around 11PM and watched the cook, who is machine-like in his ability to keep making so many pizzas without stopping, with a sort of awe. The Mexican pizza we got was not great, but was decent, and did the job. It had corn and pepperoni and some hot peppers on it. We got another pizza(a mostly-meat pizza) to go, so we’d have something to snack on the next morning. We also loved watching the younger kids hang out and chat as the night grew on, passing a fairly rambunctious dog around their table. Unfortunately, the next day I was seriously ill. I was dizzy, and nearly fainted, and basically had diarrhea all day. Can I blame this place for that? For what seemed like potential food poison? Well, the chef did pause his pizza-making to pick up a broom and sweep, and without washing his hands, went back to pizza-making… Maybe it was that… Maybe it was that in conjuncture to running myself into the ground sight-seeing without a break. I’m sure my immune system couldn’t handle it. Either way, I couldn’t bring myself to eat any of the 2nd pizza we’d bought. Literally, I could hardly move the next day. At least it forced me to rest, but I wouldn’t recommend this place to people unless they have stomachs lined with lead. One funny moment, though, was when our waiter asked what we wanted to drink. I ordered a bottle of house white wine. He turned to my husband and said, «and for you?» — Gotta love Prague ;) Sidenote: My husband didn’t get sick so it’s more likely this had nothing to do with the pizza. If I lived there, I’d give it another shot.

This is one of those places which seems like a good idea at the time, usually at 2 in the morning when one has imbibed a little too much, but the next morning you remember why you never eat there sober. It is bland, tasteless, and the crust is like stale cardboard. You also inevitably feel like you ate a brick which just sits there, in your stomach, reminding you that you sometimes make bad life choices. Why then two stars? It is one of the few all night eateries which is open 24 hrs a day. So, until more late night food goodies open up in Zizkohrady, Pizzeria Roma is a bad food booty call one continues to make, despite knowing better.

One of the oldest late-night restaurants in Prague, Roma has been serving pretty good pizza into the wee hours since the 1990s. The pizza oven stays burning till at least 3 am and often later; other items such as pasta are unavailable after midnight or so. Some of the pizza toppings are more Czech than traditionally Italian, such as the sour cream and mushroom pizza(actually delicious). The eggplant pizza is also a favorite. Remember that«peperoni» here refers to small pickled peppers, while«pikantni salam» is what Americans would think of as pepperoni sausage. Also has billiards in the back.
