This is the largest of the three Tesco supermarkets in Prague 5 in the shopping center across the street from the Andel Metro station. Here you will find pretty much everything you need. The first floor is where you find the enormous bakery section with all the bread, sweet rolls and pastries you could want, meat/cheese/fish/prepared salad counters, hot foods like chickens, kielbasa, and halusky, all manner of dairy items, fresh fruits and vegetables, all the beer and liquor you might need, household items, dry goods, convenience foods, candy, cookies, magazines, etc. Take the moving walkway up to the second floor for clothes, back-to-school items, beauty products, baby goods, kitchen and bath, cleaning tools, hardware, and electronics. There are plenty of registers on both floors to get you out and on your way even during busy times. Don’t forget to bring your own bags. I recommend you invest in some inexpensive tote bags as soon as you arrive in Prague to carry your groceries.

I spent 5 days over Christmas in the area of this Tesco and was amazed at how huge it was. It has everything that you need. It’s size can be overwhelming though. They have an incredible deli, pre cooked chickens, plenty of self checkout registers, lots of fresh produce choices, and a huge variety of everything else. I spent 45 minutes shopping downstairs looking for things like shampoo and deodorant until I realized that there was an upstairs where the beauty supplies, toiletries, and toys were. You can safely bring your shopping cart up the escalator. The store is very clean as well.

Pop downstairs on the escalator… big, new… but the store on Národní Třída is larger, but older, If I remember correctly. Spaces are wide, and so many varieties of everything. Own in-house bakery making chleba šumava, etc… koblihy. dizzying to see all the varieties, when all I used to remember of Smíchov historically was the pink tank perched as a political statement for all! Frozen food section is sizeable. Easy to buy snacks and things for our jaunts to Plzen and Kutna Hora. Located opposite end to where Marks & Spencer located.

I don’t know if I love this place or I go here so much because of the sheer convenience of it. On my way to and from work, it is a great place to stop by and get emergency supplies. I mean I never go to to grocery part of the store and even the upstairs is a little confusing, but some how this place has become a staple in my life. If you have time, go to the big one in near Narondi Trida.
