Beautiful architecture, amazing sound considering the large dimension of this theater. We really enjoyed the opera La Travieta, it is a must see and visit place in Prague to get a little bit of that refined cultural aspect we miss in South Florida! Tickets were very affordable!

At the end of a scenic old street where you’ll find faded Art Deco murals on baroque buildings, Nádroni Divadlo, The National Theatre, built in 1881, stands grand, proud and heavy in Czech national identity. The aged smell of extended Czech families was exactly that of our Sokol Hall in Fort Worth Texas, and while sitting in a back theatre seat, moved me to tears. People dress up here and follow a particular type of quiet Czech polite etiquette. It’s like their NY Met. A visit here was essential for my Praha experience, where I saw Carmen and a Czech play. The economy tickets were dirt cheap. My standing room opera ticket enabled me to get upgraded to an empty prime balcony seat by a kind usher. Between acts walk out onto the balcony for a particularly magical romantic view of the vlatava river.
