Love this spot. I really like the staff who are super friendly and are down for a chat. After odering my ale I realized that I forgot my wallet so I had to get back to the flat. Super embarrassing but the bartender was chilled as fuck. «I trust you. Just drink yout beer and relax» I really need to try their burgers though sounded really good.

Also auf jeden Fall weiterzuempfehlen!

Lori and Dean — the masterminds behind The Tavern — have converted a yet-another-okay-Czech-pub into a class establishment that feels nice and upscalish while also feeling friendly and casual. Not an easy feat. The beer selection is varied and the quality first rate. Plus Dean has got some mad skills in the kitchen, and they are currently offering yummies of various types. Once that kitchen is up in full force, this will be one of the best places in the area. Currently they are cash only(and that means no stravenky, either) but that will no doubt change as the place gets its sea legs. And the whole thing is non-smoking, which is great for my friends who don’t smoke(I do, but I don;t mind going outside). If this is an indication of the future of the Czech pub, I’m all for it.

It´s not sucha long time ago when this place was just one of those typical Žižkov pubs. But than Owners of The Tavern bough it and turned it into Tavern style. I still prefer Tavern but U Kurelů has definitely potentional to get on Tavern level. The whole restaurant is non-smoking. The menu is a bit different. They have a less burgers and more tex mex meals. Which is good because you don´t wanna have two same restaurants almost next to each other(Taverrn is only four blocks away). The portion could be slightly bigger but maybe i was just really hungry at that moment :-) The truth is that the meals are delicious. I can´t unfortuantely say it about beer specials. I tasted few of them and wasn´t really exited. They were kind a flat. Ježek at Tavern is better. And another thing which needs to be improved is service when the place is crowded. Waitresses are very nice, kind and with a smile on the face. That´s perfect. But if it´s crowded there than the service can be a bit chaotic. There were people sitting next to us and waiting for their drinks for at least ten minutes and they had to remind to their waitress that they still didn´t get anything. And also maybe to improve communication in those little things like to offer dips or anything else what´s possibly good with meal that you ordered but you just don´t think about it. That´s what´s common in Tavern but so far I miss it here. And they don´t accept cards, only cash(unfortunately the same as Tavern). Anyway, I can recommned this place. I enjoyed my meal a lot. And I will definitely give them five stars after they will fix these details.

I lived on this street a few years ago. This place was a typical czech pub, a nice space, but nothing worth a review. I’m told they are revamping the kitchen, as of now they have pop up menus. Others have noted it is the same people from The Tavern, also in Žižkov. As of now it’s quite nice, but when they get burgers and BBQ going it’s going to be worth it for me to cross town more often. Much more often.

This place is great! It is the latest offering from the minds who brought us the Tavern. While it is still a very typical Czech pub, there is also a great neighborhood bar feeling for us expats. I went there randomly last Saturday, for what I thought was a few beers. Five hours later, a number a new friends made, quite a few beers consumed, and learning it was closing time, I managed to drag myself home. It is fun enough, with amazing enough staff, who speak several different languages, to make me go out of my way to hang out there. If the food is anything like Tavern, I will absolutely chow down there any time, and honestly you can’t beat the beer prices. Plus they have cocktails too!
