We wanted to buy authentic Turkish red clay pottery from the Avanos area. We were given the business card and referral from a friend to check this place out. We were greeted immediately and guided through the large underground store. I was amazed with the large varieties of hand painted plates, vases, bowls, wine decanters, etc. I honestly spent over an hour trying to figure out what color and size of a footed serving bowl!!! While we were looking around they offered for my 7 year old son to make his own piece of pottery. They let him sit at the wheel, form, and cut designs into his own piece. He loved it!!!
After buying all of our items, the main business owner offered us çay to sip on. We declined but took up his offer to show us his friend’s carpet shop and restaurant. He even paid for our parking while we shopped the other venues. I definitely recommend visiting this shop. You can find anything you might be wanting along with friendly help.
