In a sea of back-to-back restaurants in Prince Islands, you may be feeling a bit overwhelmed and possibly a little annoyed by those trying to get you into their restaurant. Ali Baba was decent food, though I don’t know that it was the best I’ve ever had. I would skip the meat here and stick with the seafood if you are looking to eat at this particular restaurant. Keep in mind that the by-the-pound seafood here is waaaaay overpriced. Also, their credit card machine is very old so it won’t accept most American credit cards. Make sure to bring cash.

Unless you board a ferry and get out and explore the boundaries of Istanbul, you’ll never find this place. It took forever to get here, but it was well worth it. Not that we were looking for it. We just stumbled upon it and I’m glad we did. When you just can’t decide what you want, what do you do? You ask to try everything, right? Well, that’s what I did. I went with the mixed plate, and boy was it delicious! This included chicken, lamb chops and minced lamb with rice and vegetables. I was also happy to see that the Turkish wine I had been ordering at Turkish restaurants in the States was as authentic as advertised. Go with Yakit, if it’s available. It’s a nice cheap and tasty red. Perhaps the best part of this restaurant is the view of the Marmara. The restaurant is located right along the water and considering how prime the real estate is, the prices here were very reasonable. With a bottle of wine, two appetizers and three lunch entrees for three people, I think we spent a little over $ 100 including gratuity. Worth going to, but again, you have to go a little out of your way to get to it.
