Nettes Lokal, das sehr schwer zu finden ist, da es keinen Schild hat.
Wie die meisten Lokale in Istanbul, herrscht innen das Rauchverbot. Aus diesem Grund ist die Terrasse auch im Winter vom Gedränge besetzt.
Man wird vom Kellner direkt bedient. Es gibt keine Karte, aus der man bestellen kann, trotzdem stand Manhattan nicht auf der Karte (?!?), daher musste ich ein simples Wodka Red Bull bestellen, das schlussendlich zu Wodka Burn wurde, weil sie kein Red Bull hatten.
Sie spielen, passend zum Konzept, Indie + Techno. Laut Programm wird auch live gespielt. Zum Plaudern ist die Musik nicht besonders geeignet, weil sie sehr laut ist.
Was mir sehr gefallen hat, ist die Dekoration. Sitzplätze bestehen aus schweren, alten Polstersesseln und Couchs.
Fazit: Gut für einen angenehmen Abend und für diejenigen, die die andere Seite der Istanbuler Jugend sehen wollen.

I love Arka Oda, but it’s important to arrive before 11 if you want to get a seat. Good for a small group of 2 – 6 people, there is generally seating on the second floor if none is available in the garden. However, sometimes the entire place is packed and the doorman won’t let anyone else in, so beware.
The music is always really crazy and obscure, and the entire bar has a bit of a hipster vibe. The few times I’ve been here I’ve had a lot of fun and met random and fun strangers, but that’s the nature of pretty much any place in Kadikoy. I give it four stars because it’s not my favorite place on Kadife street, but a good place to go for the atmosphere and outdoor seating.

A nice bar and an even better sleepy daytime café on Kadife. Velvet furniture fills the top floor, which includes big windows overlooking the bench lined, leafy courtyard. Has wifi, which is a blessing for we wee tourists, and all prices are pretty standard for the neighbourhood.

Definitely one of my favorite bars in Istanbul! Located right on Kadife Sok (Barstreet) this bar is like no other in Istanbul.
This gem is located right next to the better known «Hera», but as its name Arka Oda («hidden room») suggests, it is quite easy to walk right passed it without even noticing it.
The furniture — which seems to have been picked up at a yard sale — combined with the low light make it extremely cozy to kill some hours here. The (electronic) music in the background fits to the general mood, but sometimes it’s turned up a little too loud, which can make it hard to have a conversation.
They also have a garden «downstairs», which is especially nice when it’s warm outside. But if my memory doesn’t betray me, they have some heating in the garden and some sort of «roof».
