A good friend of mine brought us here when we asked for a «typical night out». What to say: the reviews here are all in point! The service is extremely nice, the guys there are very friendly and courteous. They bring fresh coal and tea and watermelon almost all the time(until you don’t want more of course). There are TVs(important bc Euro2016). The ambience is impressive as can be seen in the videos. Outside was very full, with locals and tourists the same and lots and lots of pipes. Inside was similarly full, with small rooms and here people squeezed together which created an amicable bond as we were forced to talk to each other. We met some nice guys who worked in the Grand bazaar and spoke around 6 languages fluently! The important thing, the nargile(water pipe in Turkish) was the best I’ve had so far(though until now I’ve only had those in Vienna and that’s no comparison). Our apple flavour was not too strong and came with a sweet aftertaste. Also, our friendly neighbours explained to us what to beware of with the pipe, the café seemed to be their second home. All in all, I was amazed to find such an atmospheric café, behind the ruined walls and the not-so-trustworthy entrance. But my Turkish friend shooed us in and what a gem we found. Hence, a perfect recommendation. Bring a lot of time and relaxed mood, go in, be amazed and find new friends.

This was our favorite place to hide away and relax in Istanbul. Cats, hookah, sage tea, beautiful old world surroundings, and amazing people. It encompassed all that we fell in love with while in Istanbul. The prices are amazing and we were able to sit in the covered area and watch soft snowflakes fall all around us. So picturesque and full of warmth. The staff is all so friendly and the layout makes it easy to meet new people. Definitely somewhere I would like to find myself lounging again someday.

Typing this review while enjoying our coffee shisha, the ambience is great, full of locals, chai get carried around in trays all the time. We are only in Istanbul for three days and this is our second and last night here. It is a great place! Highly recommended!

This place was definitely the best hookah bar in Istanbul. You walk in through an alleyway that is flanked by a graveyard on each side. Once you are inside it is a spacious and lively place with a few different«shops» to get hookah in and a place to buy hookahs and trinkets in the back. The first shop on the left has the most comfortable couches and had the most flavor options. 20TL for a hookah and 2 teas.

Fun spot to unwind after a long afternoon at the Grand Bazaar! It’s totally hidden — I love that you walk through a small cemetery to get here. The Wi-Fi is very spotty. Go to the server’s stand near the front for best coverage. It was plenty crowded around 6 pm on a Saturday, but there’s high turnover and there were a couple seat options for two when we got in. The staff is always walking around so it’s easy to get coals for your hookah. Our tea took a while and we had to remind the staff we’d ordered it. The mint hookah’s nice and cooling, but it reminds you a little of just having brushed your teeth. The washroom is separate and a little outside, costs 1TL to use it. It was 22TL before tip for a mint hookah and 3 teas. You can also shop for lights and hookahs, similar to what’s in the bazaar.

Istanbul’s hidden gem. I was taken here by a local who worked at the Grand Bazaar, and it was a very authentic and incredible experience. It was packed with locals, and the building itself is lovely and about 300 years old. Get a cup of cay and an apple and mint water pipe. It’s a great way to relax after a day of shopping at the Grand Bazaar!

A hidden jem. All they serve is hookah(Nargile), tea(sha), and turkish coffee(kahwa). If you are a tourist and want more just don’t come here. No menu, no English and no waiting on you to make up your mind. This was a former 300 year old school and it is now converted into this Café.

Hidden in a backyard off the main road, you would walk by if you don’t know the place and are specifically looking for it. Nevertheless it seems to be popular with locals and tourists alike and was very busy the both nights we went there. The shisha(we got it from Erenler, but I think there was at least one other supplier) was the best we had in Turkey. The flavor was original Al Fakher and lasted all night. They came around with fresh charcoal frequently as well as with tea, mineral water, lemonade and water. Although not everyone was fluent in English, we could communicate well and everyone was very friendly and patient with our attempts of speaking a few words in Turkish. The price for shisha was 20TL and worth every penny. Beverages were cheap, especially compared to the more touristic places. If you like shisha you’ll love this place.
