I really liked the food and the fast service. The prices were reasonable too. We ordered hummus and an aubergine mezze

Terrible restaurant, when we did not speak Turkish they new we are tourists… so, they plan to rip us off; We ordered two duner meals, one french fries, and two coke. The bill came(166TL) which is 4 times the maneu price. When we asked the waiter about the reason, he start getting angry and of course did not clearly provide answers. Basically, it is a theft strategy. We visit Istanbul regularly but we do not plan to go back to this restaurant again nor recommend it to anyone. Additionally, Travel Advisor website has similar bad reviews(costumer theft/rip off) for this restaurant from many other tourists.

The shittiest hole in all of Istiklal. Rude service and sub-par food. We ate here on our first night in Istanbul. We had high hopes but just got rude service in return. Maybe it’s because we’re foreign girls but they would mock us each time we thanked them for their service. The food was tasteless and looked microwaved. And they would make strange noises at us(hissing, meowing… Etc.) honestly, WTF?! I’ve had 10000x better service and food elsewhere in Istanbul. It’s really such a shame we had this kind of experience.

Ate here while visiting Istanbul. It was the first spot we stopped to enjoy a wonderful mixed grill, so we were definitely excited. We sat on the third floor, on a small balcony overlooking that Main Street, which added to the wonderful ambiance. The food was wonderful, very tasty. The problem with this restaurant, and why it didn’t receive a higher rating was simply bc the service was slower than others that I later experienced, and the food was about 3x overpriced. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I guess ur paying for location. I recommend getting kabobs on the side streets, which will run you a lot less than the Main Street. You will also get more of the Turkish experience. And if ur a visitors, always get a mixed grill, you won’t regret it.

Stopped in while visiting Istiklal Caddesi drawn to the large rotating vertical spits(
) I ordered the döner with rice plate. The g/f got the mezze sampler, cacik, and pide. The döner plate had the meat, a handful of fries, a grilled pepper, some tomato slices and rice( ). The meat was really dry and flavorless. We noticed the portions were significantly larger for locals at the table next to ours. The mezze sampler was pretty uninspired with the largest portion some veggies that could have been from a bag of frozen vegetables drowning in a mayo-y dressing along with some mushy broccoli and cauliflower( ). The beans and cabbage were OK. The cacik( ), when it eventually came(requested multiple times), was really bland. It tasted like yogurt and cucumber with no additional spices like dill or garlic or even some salt. The fresh pide( ) is what’s keeping this from being a 1-star review. I also tried some Şalgam suyu(fermented red carrot juice) for the first time( ). Salt bomb! Maybe it’s better non pre-packaged, but I think I got my day’s allotment of sodium in two sips. Service was pretty eh. We had to ask several times for the cacik, wave frantically for water refills, etc.
