I was very impressed by this place. It was recommended by the jeweler, who has been in the area for 36 years, around the corner. Upon looking at the menu, it would seem like their pita and the pizza is basically the same thing, but in a different shape. I found myself to be absolutely wrong. The pizza was pretty much like an upgraded bar pie, and the pita was very close to a calzone. They also offered a meat casserole. It was more like a stew. Lots of meat in a small soup bowl. We ate everything family style, and the 4 of us enjoyed eating all the dishes they had to offer. Oh, and .5L of Eres was only 8TL. Huge bonus!

Situated behind the heavily trafficked Aya Sofia and Sultanahmet district, Meat House offers wonderfully fragrant kebabs. We would recommend any of the kebabs, but the bread was especially tasty. Unfortunately we had to knock off one star as the service staff were slow and our food took some time to arrive.

Small cozy restaurant known for their kebabs. Nice strong pours of Raki. Amazing bread. The Turkish tea is a perfect finishing touch!

Really pleasant restaurant with no frills but lots of warmth. Food is served with a smile and in a jiffy. The menu is large, and the food is tasty and authentic. The spot feels a little kitschy with the faces of other diners plastered against the walls, but they are a testament to the quality of the experience. I saw only tourists here when I had a late night dinner, but the whole experience was very satisfying overall.

We Unilocaled us here one of our first nights, mainly because of the closeness to our hotel. It’s a place we would have walked past if we hadn’t read the other reviews. I must say i expected so much more, according to the other reviews. The food were ok, but I think you could get this anywhere else in Istanbul. Service were very good but we never got the feeling for this restaurant. To be honest, the whole place felt a bit tacky.

Excellent Turkish food! It’s next to a lot of hotels and the Sultanamet so it’s extremely convenient. Service was a little slow(which is why I only give it 4 stars). The traditional breads are great but go for the meat. The meat dishes were 10x better than in most Turkish restaurants in the US. The appetizers(sigara borek and cacik pronounced«jajik») were very different so I wasn’t as thrilled. I had the Pide(a type of pizza), a kebab dish, and an excellent oven-baked kebab. Great food. Service was OK. Décor is photos on the wall. Music is geared to make western audiences feel comfortable.

Simple, Authentic and beautifully prepared! After eating at a few tourist traps it was so nice to finally have some good honest food. Just what we were looking for!

I still miss Istanbul, and eating here made my experience so memorable and enchanting. We were recommended this spot by our local ‘tour-guide’ {he wasn’t really our tour guide, he was an unofficial local we picked up off the street — not for any sketch reasons} After the Topkapi Palace and the Hagia Sophia, we were starving. This was seriously my favorite meal in Istanbul. The owner/chef/manager was so nice too, he was really appreciative of all the praise we were giving the food. Then two nights later, we wanted to go back here. To our dismay, we got there so late — everything was closed. The owner/chef/manager was locking up and was on his way home, we told him how we were craving his food, so he REOPENEDTHERESTAURANTFORUS. I’ve never experienced this kind of customer service, ever. He cooked, served and impressed us once more… The food was amazing, and the warm generosity of the owner is no joke. ** The fluffy bread here is SO good. Their mezze was better than others. The chicken Adana is really moist and flavorful.

Read as 3.49. We had dinner here last night. It’s a square, boxy place w/a bar in the back and snapshots of customers completely lining the side walls in a way that reminded me of Moeders in Amsterdam. When we arrived an older British couple who were obviously regulars were sitting at the bar chatting w/the waiter and it felt like a hangout in a nice way. We sat at an inside table and were brought a basket of bread similar to the one at Med Cezir, although this one was smaller, rounder and less hot, suggesting it was not straight from the oven. I had a glass of red wine and Alan ordered the dark Turkish beer he likes, Efes. We ordered a salad to share and the meat platter, which had generous assortment of the restaurant’s offerings of meet, plus roasted tomatoes, eggplant and a pepper that turned out to be much hotter than anticipated. It turned out it’s one of those peppers that’s usually mild but sometimes isn’t and this time it wasn’t. Aside from the pepper, though the food was nicely cooked and tasty. Again, the lamb was tender and delicious, though hard to cut w/a table knife

Very good food at a reasonable price. Really enjoyed the lentil soup. With all the men trying to get you into their restaurant it was nice that this place didn’t have somebody harassing people.

I came here multiple times on my trip to Istanbul. The food is just so good & the service so friendly, that I kept coming back. Their prices are really reasonable as well. Even their house white wine is an enjoyable wine. My favorite item was the sigara boregi. It was supposed to be for breakfast, but theirs was so good that I ordered it any time of day. I also really liked the lentil soup, in fact I miss the great lentil soup that you find in Istanbul. If you are in Istanbul please stop here & it. It’s delicious.
