Great little spot for a coffee and to pound out some emails. Plenty of power outlets and friendly servers. The soccer moms and dumb basics that come in kinda bring down my photoshop workflow but don’t let that stop you. Good food, solid drinks. One of the better stops in the I S T hood.

— They don’t speak much English, but I’ll save you the time. Just order the Turkish breakfast. You won’t be sorry. — It’s one of the best early morning breakfast places in that area

This is a nicely decorated and fancy place of Karakoy that in my opinion does not really stand out of the many other similar places in the area. It is ok(and opens early) but if you want a better Turkish breakfast for similar prices, you can find it easily pretty close. So we had there the traditional Turkish breakfast and menemen. The turkish breakfast was made of a plate of cheese, salads, and some meat and it was ok, but nothing more. The menemen were quite good. So the quality was ok but average. The main problem is that i did not like so much the selection of the menu and did not find it very authentic.

The only reason this place is getting two stars instead of one star is that the food is tasty. While the food is good, it’s also pricier than what seems to be typical for an Istanbul breakfast. The portions also seemed to be smaller than other breakfast places. (Immediately after our brunch, I walked down the street and bought a chicken sandwich for 3TL, and it was way more filling than our expensive breakfast). The service started out OK but then our server disappeared for at least 20 minutes. As we’re sitting there waiting to ask for our check, we see him come back from running an errand. That’s fine if he has to run an errand, but nobody even came to our table to clean up our plates or ask if we wanted anything else to drink. Lastly, the place automatically included a 10% service fee. I understand that nice places may tack this extra 10% onto the bill, but I would never have tipped 10% for our service.

Really cute place. The menu looks great, food presentation spot on. I love the use of cracked salt and pepper on the table. I will return.

Forget about Taksim, Karakoy is reincarnated for good! New cafes/shops brought life and spirit to this area of what once was a vibrant trade activity center back in the old days later with a twist of fate, buckled under the settlement of the city’s most notorious brothels. Two year of living abroad, I was astonished by the major development the neighbourhood undergone. Still needs major changes however the progress is unprecedented up till now. And cafes like Ops did help bringing out the best in Karaköy’s scene as its ‘Ops Burger’ did. bringing out the inner monster in me. I’m blown away by the combination of juicy tender meatballs with beef-jerky accompanied by tortilla breads. Great gourmet dining experience! The waiters are mostly 2 or 3 young boys who perfectly communicates with the people/clients and serves the dishes with no problem. Despite lacking space, it is somehow roomy like you don’t have to squeeze up or anything. In fact, it was only a couch and a wooden table that took me to put me at ease. Very pleasing ambiance. No rush. But chill. I can see myself reading my book here alone in the near future. I’m glad my best friend pulled me from my arm and brought me here to see the improving urban life in Karaköy and of course Ops’ delicious top notch food experience which expectably will catch on amongst young Karaköy goers anytime soon.
