Freaking loved this place! We were staying in old town and had to make an effort to get here but it was well worth it! It took a 7 stop tram ride + a 20 mins walk towards Fatih Camii. The place is tucked away in a VERY residential neighborhood. The staff was very friendly even though we were the only tourists there. Best lahmacun we had in Istanbul. The prices were fit for locals as well. Would love to go back for some more food next time!

Istanbul is full of pleasant surprises when it comes to restaurants, cafes and patisseries. We are fortunate to have Turkish relatives who introduced us to a very traditional and genuine Kebap and Lahamacun cuisine at Oz Kilis. An unpretentious restaurant with unpretentious service left an indelible taste on our palate. The opener mint sauce with pomegranate juice and yogurt with egg plant dipped in traditional Turkish bread sends the diner to a culinary journey that has no parallel. I believe this was complimentary. A good start to a great meal which was followed by Lahamacun and a sumptuous platter of Kebops. Lahamacun may be likened to Pizza but only better in that the herbs and subtle spicing has no parallel. I can live on Lahamacun alone but our hosts hospitality showed us a new dimension of the Turkish cuisine, a platter of Kebops. Yes, we have had Kebops many times before. The Oz Kilis Kebop has no match. The tender, juicy, Kebop is expertly grilled to perfection with a blend of spices expertly handled by the chef. For visitors to this great historical city, Oz Kilis is an authentic introduction to a segment of Turkish cuisine. Enjoy it. Suresh Chawla
