I should start by saying that U2 was not at all like I expected when I heard «Irish Pub,» but it is a gem none the less. The description of «dive bar» given in another review is fair.
The pub is the size of a small room, and covered with Ireland & U2 related memorabilia. I believe that it’s the best place in all of Istanbul to grab a Guinness– and you’re paying for that a bit.
The experience was definitely worth 4 (maybe even 5) stars. Everyone at the pub was super friendly– there was a good mixture of locals & tourists/​expats. The owner requested that each person took a turn singing a song from their native country, which I thought was funny and got the conversation going. I’d definitely make another visit to U2 pub on my next trip to Istanbul.

Worst bar experience. I had been Irish pubs almost 15 different countries but haven’t seen such a rude bartender. If there was «0» for rating I would give «0». He adds «This is not an Irish Pub it is a Turkish Pub»

This place is the epitome of a dive bar. It could fit in my kitchen and its so dark you have to lean close to your friends to get a good view. The bartender knows how to pour a Guinness and charges optimal price for it. Definitely a fun experience and an interesting stop on our trip.
