Ege Palas is a business hotel. Room was enough good and the breakfast was enough good too. It will be better that not to expect more like a swimming pool. Thee is a very good parking space to park your car easily. Sea side view is very fancy but city side is a little bit louder because of the bars street.

I am so glad I picked this hotel. The location is great. We are directly across from the water. There are a ton of restaurants and shopping within half a block walk. The service is first class. The rooms are clean & comfortable. Really enjoyed the balcony. Don’t miss the rooftop bar.

Solid rooms, table and chairs on private patios overlooking ocean and square. Ask for higher room, ocean front. Large bed, choice of pillows, refrig and safe, excellent breakfast buffet with pastries, fresh local specialties, olives, cheeses and more cheeses, fresh fruit and veggies, egg dishes, pancakes, pizza. Rooftop bar has a great view, rand raki, good service but limited English. It’s an easy walk to some awesome outdoor cafes and bars full of locals. We hit it lucky and got to experience Izmir’s anniversary, complete with flag waving, marching, friendly family groups on the grass sitting out to watch a spectacular fireworks display shot from 12 locations that we could see from our hotel balcony. Easy walk to shops, nice service, one of the better locations in town.

What to say about this place. There’s free wi-fi but all the free wi-fi’s in this country really suck and honestly gets so frustrating getting on it that I gave up half of the time getting online which is a good thing because that’d force me to go outside and explore and such. This hotel didn’t have really anything special. The food was ok and there weren’t any great amenities like a swimming pool or amazing view of the city. It is close to the sea and the boardwalk so it’s great to leave this hotel to explore. And the night I was there, apparently the local team had just won a huge soccer(football) match and so it was complete mayhem. That was pretty awesome. Flags waving everywhere. People drinking and singing. Cars honking their horns. Dogs barking. And it felt safe and strangely family friendly. I walked around and families with little kids were getting involved in the celebrations. I have to say though that the water was pretty gross. The water was polluted and there was floating trash everywhere. These people did not take care of the environment and it was quite apparent in how the landscape here was treated. Anyhow, I enjoyed it but the other hotels I stayed at in Turkey were much nicer and better overall.
