Sipari Balık Restaurant

Just a quick shot on the ferry from Karsiyaka and within walking distance of the ferry, Sipari Balik is a great place to have a family fish and meze dinner or a meze and grilled meats dinner. Their specialty is the steak, but we went the seafood meze and cold meze route — which being on the Aegean this rarely is a bad choice. It’s all of very good quality. Nothing that will knock your socks off, but you won’t be disappointed if you just want to come out for a change of scenery. There is also a full bar and since I don’t do raki (I know… shame on me. I’m a retired raki drinker) is a big plus. They kept my gin and sodas flowing. In the summer, there is seating right by the Levent Marina — which is a great spot to take in the sea and daydream about that boat you’ve always wanted.
