My tour group(only 9 people) took us here for our Lunch stop. I had the chicken clay pot and it was really good. I also really enjoyed the Mezzes.

We stop for lunch at Avanos after going to the open museum at Goreme. The place is very nice, with a winery and local wine options. We had testi kevhab as the main course, with fried cheese rolls and kebab as entry plates. Also, we tasted the humus and yogurt. For desert we had baklava. The service was good and beause is not high season it was not crowded. Everything was really good and tasty. The prices are avarage compared with other turkish restaurants.

Bizim Ev(Our House) is one of the nicest restaurants in the small town of Avanos. It’s got lots of space in several rooms, each decorated differently but interestingly, some upstairs some on the ground floor. The rooms each have their own name: Cave Entrance, Cave Wine Cellar, Stone Arch Room and the Closed Terrace. Some have regular tables and chairs, some have low tables and cushions you sit down on. The menu was extensive and carried both the simpler, traditional meals other local restaurants did plus some more unusual items(Turkish ravioli, for example). The service was excellent, very attentive and accomodating(possibly aided by the fact that it wasn’t very busy the night we were there). They had an interesting wine list, including many local Cappadocian varieties.
