Having tried some of their Soucie Vineyard Old Vine Zinfandel at a friend’s gathering a while back, my brother and I were pretty stoked to have a chance to try them at the source. The winery is expansive with a modern tasting room, outdoor patio and barrel room. Our host, Stacey, was so welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed chatting with her about the wines and M2’s story. Sensing our enthusiasm for the quality of just about all the reds, we sincerely appreciated her letting us sample some off-the-menu bottles that were downright derricious. The Old Vine Zinfandels were certainly fruit-forward though still balanced without any of the excessive jamminess that plagues so many others. There’s also a Native Zinfandel made only with native yeasts that turned out to be one of my favorites with its brightness and elegance that reminded me of some of the best Old World reds from years ago. By the end, it was an easy decision splitting a wine club membership with the quarterly pick-up parties(just went to one, tons of fun) and other perks. Overall, a pretty darn awesome place making some of the tastiest reds at its excellent price point.

5 stars for the ambience and the wines! A lot of great wines. Just everything down the line has been great. Very nice Zins and blends. We have been there 2x, but plan to return plenty since we joined the wine club. They appear to have some great events for wine club members, and a summer concert tour. Music, wine & ambience combined sounds like a good time to me. The grounds and the building are very unique. The building with the tasting room opens opens up completely. But, when it gets hot, it closes up for comfort. There’s a good spot for outdoor dining too, if you bring a picnic.

I’m kicking back on some comfy patio furniture making a muggy overcast June day better with a glass of M2 Tempranillo. So in other words, life is pretty great. M2 does wine extremely well. Each varietal has a unique and flavourful taste. I love the full fruit forward flavours on the Tempranillo, the Clockstopper, and even the zins. It’s so perfect. I’m so glad I know zis guy with a wine membership here. Coming to pick up parties is such fun! M2 hosts caterers that bring an array of yummy treats like tamales(toro tamales, mmm) and sliders, and there’s usually someone with a cheese, chocolate or olive oil and bread pairing set up. Lodi is an incredible place to come and taste. You’re missing out if you keep hitting up Napa and Sonoma and paying out the nose instead of wandering the beautiful Zin region here. Come on over. You know you want to.

M2 was the first stop in 14 different wineries we tried in over five days. With the exception of D’art this was our other favorite. The wine was very good and the server was genuine, fun, no push(not even a mention) to join their wine club. It was a weekday so we were the only ones there, the owner, wine maker was quite funny and popped in now an then to give us a «hard» time. Just a fun place to taste, put it at the top of your list!

Been a wine club member here forever… when they were in the old place. Wine never disappoints, service is great, and a terrific new location, too. Price is a little high, but I am paying for some good times and some nostalgia, along with the great wine. Keep up the quality stuff, guys! See you soon!

A friend shared M2 wine with us. WOW was it good. My favorite was the red Trio. We are planning a buying trip to M2 in November to complement our Holiday dinners.

We came to M2 wine after a recommendation from a nearby winery. Granted we came in with two kids however, that is no reason to be stared down upon. Mom’s and dad’s with friends can have fun responsibly too! The day we came here there was a group of women wine drinkers have what seemed to be a nice time in the Acampo winery area. Service was lacking and when questions were asked responses couldn’t be given. I even observed our wine pourer take a sip of wine, choke on it and state how she’s never tasted it before. Apparently it was so «bad» that she had to recover behind the tasting room walls. The tasting room fee is quite steep here at $ 10 a person. Given how knowledgeable their staff is, how cold and unfriendly they seemed, I foresee no reason to return here nor recommend anyone to come. The building itself is quite modern and looks like it was recently created. Parking is plentiful, however that in itself is no reason to stop at M2. Keep on driving, there’s plenty of other place out here that will suit your fancy!

3 stars mostly for the quality/taste of some of their varietals. Some interesting blends but generally not up my palette’s alley. Regardless, beautiful huge modern tasting room which overlooks the new vines. Woman working the tasting room was super friendly and attentive, even let us try a wine or two from the reserve tasting list.

So. We went here because a few people recommended it and to be honest the wine wasn’t good. It was mediocre at best. In addition, I’m not sure why m2 thinks it’s wines are worth the value of $ 10 tasting per person, when the wine really isn’t that good. Additionally, any other winery in Lodi waives this fee if a couple purchases a bottle –we aren’t in Napa after all. Basically, the wine isn’t worth the cost of the tasting. I personally think that anyone who«likes» this place does so because they are infatuated with the modern architecture but not the actual wine. My vote is for oak farm and Jess’s grove — much better! And if you really want the CA wine experience go to el dorado county or amador county. Tastings are free — wines are great and sell themselves(without the tastings)!

To start, Nancy(black fluffy cat) greeted us. The winery is ultra modern, with an open-airy feel, and great wines. Tom, who poured our wine, was very friendly, informative, and even recommended other local wineries. This place is a must stop.

M2 Wines is a new and funky addition to the Lodi scene with a cool modern tasting room seemingly out of place in the old vines surrounding the area. They are located in the North 99 part of Lodi Wine Country right next to the main Union Pacific railroad which may make a loud appearance during your trip. All part of the experience. The tasting room has high ceilings and lots of light. An energetic staff takes you through the refundable tasting including a high number of blends. I am a big fan of blends, although this may be a challenge for people only used to single varietals. They also sell some good handmade snacks and picnic items which can come in handy. M2 is a popular stop for limos, so be prepared for a sudden rush of people every so often.

Just had a fabulous tasting at M2 where Sherry Bechthold took me through the whole lineup. All the wines are real gems, but the Soucie Zinfandel is a true diamond.

Good variety of reds most of which are full bodied and fruity. Medium tannins worth exploring.

We had received a voucher for 2 free tastings at the Lodi Visitor’s Center, so we stopped by. Really loved the modern, open feel of this tasting ‘room’. It was air-y and made for a cool experience. Excellent wine — definitely a must visit!

I have visited twice now with out of town. We have found the staff to be happy, personable, and eager to get to know us and our interest in wine. The setting is also great. We have enjoyed the setting as well, the modern design of their building is a nice difference from the other tasting rooms in the area.

Beautiful, beautiful new facility and nice lighting for the Christmas season. Certainly a great place to enjoy with friends. Friendly, unpretentious staff and like that the tasting is only $ 5 and they refund with a purchase. Can’t say we loved the wine and would want to come back, but everyone’s taste in wine is different. Both Zins tasted like caramel, Tempranillo was decent; the 2012 Trio red blend was good enough to bring home a bottle.

m2 is a staple in my wine diet. The new location is fantastic and I can’t wait to go back soon! Whether it’s the complex clone 6 Cabernet, the Chapman Lani’s Vineyard Syrah(my personal favorite) or one of their award-winning Zinfandels, you can’t go wrong with this stuff. And it’s a bargain for the price. This is one of those wineries I could visit twice a year and never get tired of…

Driving through Lodi’s expansive and ever growing wine country, you drive right by M2 Wines. From the outside it looks like a modern industrious marvel. Inside is a beautiful modern take on the wine scene. A photo kiosk to remind you of your visit and e-mail and or share with friends on social media. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The wine is pretty good, I like the reds over the whites. As a matter of fact we had a heck of a time picking just one to call our favorite. The Cabs were fantastic! Looking forward to our next trip to Lodi to stop in.

If we didn’t already belong to 2 wine clubs in Lodi, we would definitely be joining M2. This wasn’t a planned stop in Lodi, but we had some extra time. I am beyond thankful that stopping at M2 worked out because I am their newest fan! The tasting room is very chic and updated. The staff is beyond friendly and the wine is spectacular! We liked every wine we tried and had the hardest time picking out which Zin to take home with us. Because we heard rave reviews about their dessert wine, we also did the reserve tasting, which normally costs $ 10, but was waived with our purchase of wine. M2 will definitely be a regular in the wineries we visit in Lodi.
