Had high hopes for this place. Kinda funky inside(in a good way). But I should have known better when it took us 30 minutes to get coffee and water. Waited an hour for food(which was cold) only to have the waitress tell us there were not enough plates for everyone, that’s what was taking so long. Meanwhile there was an empty table behind with plates on it that never got cleared! Seems like customer service is not a top priority!

Stopped here on the way home after a weekend at Deep Creek. Really had high hopes for a great meal stop based on previous Unilocal reviews. Would love to rate the food, unfortunately we never got to that point. We waited 20 minutes for the waitress to come to our table, at which point we were told they had no menus because they were busy. There were maybe 15 other people in the place. Finally after waiting, we inquired about menus, and were told«we’re really busy and will get to you when we can». Really? Not the best customer service. The waitress then finally came to our table with drink menus, followed by telling us they don’t serve alcohol until after 1. No point for these menus. We decided to leave and go down the street to Annie’s. Had menus and ordered food within the first 5 minutes of being there.

Great unlikely find in Accident, MD. My wife and I ate here while skiing at a local ski resort. Can’t say enough positive things about the service… extremely attendent and curteous. The food was also were very good. The cauliflower appetizer is amazing! I also ordered a burger medium and it was actually cooked perfectly… an unusual occurance in my experience with burgers at other restaurants. My only complaint was the size of the servings. After finishing my meal and even gobbling some of the wife’s entry I still wasn’t full… and I’m not morbidly obese. Overall recommended and would probably go again if in the area.

They catered our wedding(80 people) and did an amazing job through the entire process! The staff are really great to work with. They really helped us plan and execute the wedding that we wanted to have and will always recommend them to people looking to have a large event in the deep creek area catered. The food and cake were delicious and we got lots of compliments from our guests about how friendly everyone was.

Stopped in for a drink. The restaurant is very unique in style. I loved the sangria and mimosas. They have some nice craft brews on tap as well. The food smelled delicious too.

Awesome place to stop and get great tasting food with lots of eclectic charm. Surprisingly diverse and interesting menu! Great drinks selection as well with a wide variety of beers on tap and handful of good craft cocktails. Did a beer tasting and discovered what is now my favorite beer!

I’m in this beautiful community on business and Unilocaled this place. What a lovey place for lunch! I wasn’t too hungry and I was cold. Super sweet waitress recommended their cream of mushroom soup and the butternut squash galette. Both were wonderfully prepared with a deft hand. Hot tea was served well and the eclectic atmosphere is interesting and cool. Rather shabby-chic yet not over done. Highly recommend this farm-to-table place. Creative cuisine and design.

This place is such a gem. First off the ambiance is something that of magic. This mismatched little wonderland is a dream with it’s odd tables and vintage chairs. Even the dishes look as if the place raided their grandmother’s old chinaware collection. Stars and moons hang from the ceiling with strings of lights and the art and hodgepodge of decorations around the place are feasts for the eyes. The lanterns above the bar are perfection. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the spinach dip which was incredible we scrapped the bottom of the bowl, and the lunch special which was a chicken sandwich with bacon and cheese on a ricotta bun. We agreed it was one of the best chicken sandwiches we had ever eaten. Sweet crispy and simply mouthwatering. I got a chamomile and lavender tea, and he got a coffee and we enjoyed a ginger beer. Never do we both agree that we enjoyed it all, but the food right down to the drinks, service, and ambiance was superb. We both work at a restaurant, and we can appreciate the good thing going when we see it. Well worth it and we can’t wait to be regular customers.

What an amazing place! We are staying at Hartzell House B&B in Addison and was sent here by them. The beer, wine, and food selections were great. The flavor of everything was very good and most everything is local, organic, or sustainable. We are returning tomorrow! The owner and staff put a lot into this and it shows. Katie was so fantastic and personable BTW!

Stopped at this lovely café just off the interstate for lunch. It doesn’t look like much from the road, but inside it is really cute, vintage collected-over-time style. They are all natural, sourcing ingredients from local farms, and the food was great. I had chicken skewers and my friend had tuna & a salad – we were impressed with the taste & presentation. They also offer special blend teas. Looks like it is a significant local spot for music performance and nightlife by the looks of the back room – complete with stage & sound. We liked it so much we tried to return for dinner on the way home(a Sunday) but they weren’t open for dinner. Just go!

Food was good. Had the stuffed chicken which was average, wife had the pepper pork which was really good. Orzo had no flavor, dessert was good. Above average for the lake but would be average at home near Baltimore.

We were in the area for a wedding and excited to see the 4.5 star reviews on this breakfast/brunch location. We stopped by on Saturday afternoon. Inside is a cool atmosphere with a variety of kitschy repurposed tables. There is a nice bar area and an area for live music. It was quiet with only a few tables occupied on Saturday afternoon. They had a small and nice selection of some local craft beers. I ordered a double IPA I wanted to try($ 7). It was listed to be a 10 oz. pour but I was lucky to receive a 16 oz. pint glass. My wife ordered coffee, but the server sadly forgot her coffee for about 20 minutes. We were later pleased to see they did not charge us for the coffee. Though this is listed as a breakfast and brunch spot we were disappointed to see very few brunch-like items. Only one menu item included eggs, which was corn beef hash with fried eggs($ 14). We ordered the corned beef but our server informed us they were out of hash and suggested making it over another starch like french fries. We said that would be fine(as my wife really wanted the corned beef and eggs). We also ordered a stuffed pepper soup($ 4.50) to start and vegetarian curry($ 9). The soup was the highlight of the meal. It came out piping hot and was quite tasty. Though at almost $ 5 it was quite a small serving. The corned beef and fries simply did not work. The corned beef was a little overdone and dry. We were not asked how we would like our eggs and they were also overdone, cooked to over well. The curry looked nice, but was quite bland; under salted and under seasoned in general. In the end we were fairly disappointed with our experience here. We spent $ 37 before tip for 2 meals, a small soup, and a beer and were fairly disappointed with the quality of the food as well as the server forgetting my wife’s coffee and not returning for awhile in order to rectify it. I would perhaps give Moonshadow another try, but if you want hearty breakfast fare I would rather go to Annie’s just down the street.

This was a real shame. I did a lot of research to find a good restaurant in the Deep Creek area. I found the reviews for MoonShadow Café and immediately made a dinner reservation for Saturday night, April 2015. We were seated right away and I liked the(loud) live music going on in the bar area. Just be aware of it, but I love bluegrass so it was great. The waitress took our order and we waited for our food. A few minutes later the waitress came back to inform me that they were out of chèvre. Both of the dishes I ordered(my salad and my main) had chèvre. She offered to substitute parmesan on my beet salad. Ick. Then I asked if they had enough chevre left for the main dish. She said no. When I said that I was really disappointed she said«Well there’s nothing I can do about it.» and said she would get the manager if I «had a problem.» That bit of rudeness cost the restaurant our money and ruined our first impression. I cancelled my salad, we ate our main courses. They were good, by the way. Although the chèvre was missing from mine of course. We declined coffee and dessert because at that point, she had ruined my experience and put a real damper on our evening. Based on the terrible service plus being out of an essential ingredient in several of their dishes, I would not return. It is a shame too, because the menu looked good and I was excited about eating here.

We stopped here off the Interstate on a Saturday a few weeks ago. I have a lot of dietary restrictions these days, so I do best at places that serve organic, local meals. I had the pork belly, grits, and kale meal, and it was great. My husband had one of their hamburgers and liked it very much. We each tried one of the Maine Root sodas that they sell there, and they were really good as well. It’s been a long time since I’ve found a kind of pop I can drink, since most have at least one additive that hurts my tummy, but Maine Root seemed just fine for me, and now I need to find out where I can buy it closer to me! Besides having good food, this place was also very friendly. It was quite dead on a Saturday afternoon in March, but everybody was very nice, and I think it would be a nice place to hang out when there are more people around.

Just visiting for the weekend. I Looked up some local restaurants for six adults and decided that atmosphere And menu looked good with enough variety. We were not disappointed, Between six of us we ordered a variety of things and we all enjoyed the food from soups, sandwiches and dessert. This restaurant is definitely on our do again list. If you are gluten free or health conscience this is a great restaurant choice for you.

MoonShadow Café is definitely one of the better establishments within the Deep Creek Lake area. Their plates are thought out and inventive in nature, the only problem is the execution in some of the dishes. The Chili Dusted Salmon was cooked well, but the sweet and spicy sauce was too sweet and through off the overall flavor of the dish. The cauliflower ‘wings’ are delicious though. A great and healthy alternative to wings. Whenever I’m back by Deep Creek, I’m sure I’ll stop by MoonShadow Café and try out some other tasty dishes

This is one of the best hidden gems I’ve ever stumbled upon. We went for my grandpa’s 78th birthday(don’t let that deter you… he’s a bad ass), and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more. Food: We ordered all of the small plates on the menu that night. The highlight was the salmon cake. So much flavor and lots of juicy salmon. The gouda dip was pretty strong, but good. Chicken skewers were dry and there was nothing special about them, but the kids liked them. They’re a decent size to get your appetite going. I ordered a small spinach salad with prime rib. Not bad. I thought it was a little pricy for the portion size, but it had candied bacon, boiled egg, and a nice variety of vegetables. Enjoyed it. I tried the pork belly and it was excellent, but very rich. The vegetable lasagna was hot and pretty delicious. Service: This chick was busy and we had a table of 9 on a Saturday night, so I can understand why she forgot some stuff. But I had to ask for an order of times three times. And I asked for a buffalo chicken dip that was forgotten. Again, it’s not a big deal. She apologized and got the fries out. Otherwise, she was super friendly and didn’t rush us at all. Music: We were there for Bryan Elijah Smith band and wow, did they rock out. Terrific music for such a small venue. My parents had been there before and saw another band that they thought was just as good. Whoever’s picking Moonshadow’s show schedule has very good taste in music. Atmosphere: Hip, trendy, and clean. The kind of versatile place you could take your kids, your grandpa, or your hipster boyfriend, and all would feel comfortable and have an enjoyable time. Overall, you’ve got to go check this place out if you live in Accident or Deep Creek. Pick a Saturday night when they have a band!
