Went here for the Peter Roskam Chicagoland Job Fair. It was a colossal waste of time.

So this place is pretty much like a hotel dining room. So depending on who plans that party, it could be a different experience for you. But down to the basics of things: Venue: Really nice, lobby area was clean and well kept. Lot of parking, would be good for a large party. Actual room had large ceilings, I love ballrooms with large ceilings to that is definitely a plus. Staff: Our server was a nice mid-aged lady. She did her job well, no real complaints. Whenever my table asked for something, she got it in a reasonable amount of time. The bartender on the other had could have used a little fine tuning. A smile for a start. At least act like you want to be there. Staff is probably different every party though so getting to the good stuff… Food: –Bread was good. Can’t go wrong with bread. Had multiple kinds which is always a plus –Minestrone soup was all right, feel like it had a little bit too much veggies and noodles in it. The usually broccoli cheddar would have been fine but just my opinion –Salad had way too much dressing, not a fan when it’s soaked. Would prefer to have containers of dressing on the tables so it could be added on my own –Main course consisted of chicken, potatoes, and veggies. Chicken was a bit dry, but the potatoes and veggies were the bomb! On top of that, they served some type of beef and pasta family style which we just alright, nothing special. All in all, good overall experience. Pretty similar to any other ballroom type event.

The Medinah Shrine is a great organization for any Master Mason to join. How can you argue with a motto like«Having fun to help kids»? Seriously, the Shriner Hospitals are one of the best Masonic charities out there in terms of the sheer volume of lives of children and their families the Shriners have made a difference in through free specialized medicine. Medinah Shriners are a terrific example of this success and the perks of membership are good too. As Masons, we ask that our women understand that we will be away from home, often several times a week as we attend dinners, meetings, degree nights, and other functions. The Medinah Shriner Center is nice because it enables our women to participate on a social level. The events are always wonderful and the Oasis Restaurant and Bar also offers great food and bar selections. The clubs, though, are why many men became Freemasons in the first place. There is an incredible number of options and it ranges from parade units like the cars, motorcycles, mini-choppers, magic carpets, airplanes, and clowns, to Highlander Drum and Pipe Band and the Black Horse Troop to numerous support units and strictly social groups.
