The sandwiches here are ridiculous. Anything toasted on garlic cheese bread is ridiculous, however. So, with that caveat, it should be noted that I work next door and I hit up the Deli at least once a week. My go-to is the roast beef with banana peppers. Portions are huge and prices are reasonable. I do wish the place looked a little cleaner, but that’s my only real complaint.

I ordered the turkey club which was ok. I thought the cheesy bread that it came on was a nice touch. The prices are really reasonable and you get a lot of food. The salads are huge! The staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all not a bad sandwich spot.

Best value in sandwich quality meats sliced well and expertly assembled with that famous bread nothing fancy quality made to order. The italian stallion is a force of sandwich prowess. The salads had respectable toppings and good combination that work well together however the amount of lettuce should exceed the current level to compete with the standard of quality and value of their sandwiches set the standard for.

My husband and I decided to give Mackenzie Deli another chance this afternoon after a horrific experience of waiting 45 minutes for three sandwiches a few years ago. Prior to that experience, we liked their stacked, tasty sandwiches. We called in the order, and when my husband picked it up, they messed up our order, even after telling them to hold the mayo on one sandwich and onions on the other. Then, they couldn’t process the order with a debit or credit card. Their ATM machine was down, and in the meantime, the woman at the counter appeared to be strung out on something. It’s probably why she jotted down our order incorrectly over the phone. She and a boy seemed to be the only ones«running» the shop. We will never be back. Save your time and energy and drive down to Gravois Road and either make a left and get Subway or turn right and get Jimmy John’s. Or make your own peanut butter and jelly sandwich at home because at least it will be assembled correctly and quickly by someone who doesn’t appear to be on crack – you!

Great sandwiches at reasonable prices! I recommend the Italian stallion or the the pork roast with bbq sauce and cheese. Friendly staff and excellent food. Be on the look out for the deals that they run as well!

I’m a sucker for a good sub sandwich! The inside of the place isn’t my favorite and isn’t the nicest — but the food and specials are good! :) give it a try!

I have lived just a few blocks away but never been before. I was getting change at the laundry next to it and saw a lady come out of there with a bag and asked her if they were any good. She did not lie. I had the Tower and it was excellent! It comes on garlic bread with roast beef, ham, bacon, turkey and salami all fresh. The bread is toasted just right. My wife had the French dip she loved the taste of garlic with it. She was slightly disappointed with au jus sauce, it was juice they got from the meat with no flavor. We definitely be back.

I love Mackenzie Deli. I have tried most of their sandwiches and they are all fantastic. The Tower is my favorite one. I had such a craving for a tower this morning that I have been sitting in my car in front of the shop, on a Sunday, for a half hour waiting for them to open… I may have an addiction

Tried this place on a whim for a large carryout order – 4 toasted sandwiches and 2 salads. Clean establishment, friendly, patient staff, fast service. Our sandwiches and salads were a treat and really facilitated a casual dinner party. Will return here for sure! Many parking spots, easily accessible from main road.

Not fancy inside, but OK enough to eat in. Garlic cheese Fazio’s bread on a sandwich? Brilliant! Deli meat on The Tower(ham, turkey, hard salami) was just OK, but the roast beef and bacon was pretty great, so I will be back!

Great sandwiches, specifically the French Dip on Garlic Bread. Friendly staff. Locally and FAMILY owned and operated. Stop in, take a look at the menu, order anything… You’ll love it!

The sandwiches here — so far we’ve tried the Tower, Mr. Meatball, and the turkey club — are delicious, enormous, and(relatively) cheap. This might be our new go-to sub shop.

Wow what a find. This is a family owned small business that doesn’t cater to fancy branding as the chain restaurants do. They put your money in your sandwich with better everything from the bread to your personal picks of meats, cheese and toppings.

Good food, at a fair price, and it’s made to order. Plus, they’ve got double fudge brownies, AND individual gooey butter cakes. Love the friendly service, and they’re close to the dealership… how can i NOT love this place?

This place is close to where I work and I consider myself to be lucky because the food is plentiful and very good and at a very inexpensive price. I usually get a salad or roast beef on garlic cheese bread but Ive seen other sandwiches and they all looked great. One thing to keep in mind, even if the place does not look busy it will still take about 5 minutes to get your food, this is no Subway. I recommend you call ahead of time and place you order if you can, it will be worth it.

I have been to MacKenzie Deli on many occasions now since I live less than a mile away. Good quality, great taste and very reasonable prices add up to a wonderful local sandwich shop. The double fudge brownies are pretty good as well. I use to get the pepperoni pizza bread all the time, but they have changed their menu and sadly removed it. I now go for the Tower as it has pretty much everything on it. The cheesy garlic-bread they use is Fazio’s and is delicious.

I just tried the new Mackenzie Deli the other day, and I’m glad I did. They put it in where Ray’s Quick Stop used to be, right off Mackenzie in Affton, by the laundromat. They still have the beer cooler and lottery tickets left over from the old convenience store! While I was waiting for my food, 3 guys came in to buy beer, so I guess that does pretty well for them. Old habits die hard for the neighbors, I guess. When I was there, it was not so much a Mom and Pop, but a Dad and Lad kind of deal. I got a french dip, and I’d have to say it’s a close second to the best roast beef I’ve had on the Hill. They put it on cheesy garlic bread, and you have to taste it to believe it. My wife had a turkey club and she said it was fantastic. The salad was good too, although they didn’t have any low-fat dressing.
