El Pollo Loco

The service on the drive thru is simply unacceptable. After waiting a long time it was my turn at the window, the woman was talking to other employees while my food was sitting there.
After about five minutes I had to open my door and get closer to the window to get her to acknowledge my presence, I asked what was going on, she handed my food to me and told me they were changing employees, a clear misrepresentation of what was happening, she was simply too lazy to do her job.

Agoura Hills is worth living in, because pollo Loco is BACK!!! Please watch out firm fire hazards because we can’t go another six months without this delicious food. Unlike the player Loco’s that I sometimes go to in the valley, this one is superclean.

Wow they really changed el polo loco! The new building is very nice and very good choice on employees !! Hunter the cashier was so professional ! High school students working at such a young age shows responsibility! I recommend this location rather than any of the surroundings !

With the re grand opening, this location must be the best I have checked into. Starting with the new look, super modern yet ethnic, gives you the feel you are in a fast food joint in Mexico. Then the staff, this location definitely took the time to hire the right management team and associates. Greeting you with a smile and making you feel at home when you order. The pace everyone is moving is so rapid making you feel that your order does matter. The food is no different than any other pollo loco but with the attitude this team provides, it makes it a bit more enjoyable. Keep up the amazing vibe!

They recently renovated this location and it came out pretty much the same but really clean. I had the best chicken bowl my wife really had a good chicken bowl and my daughter had a chicken bowl so this review is five-​star positive congratulations.

Newly renovated El Pollo Loco and open for 6 week, I’m there. The drive-​thru lane was backed up into the street, and the 8 spaces they do have in front were double parked. Busy busy, what’s going on in there?
Recovering from a kitchen fire over a year ago, they are open and aim to please. The 1200 employees inside, all with a smile, with lovely and extra service (okay, maybe it’s 37, but seemed like a lot). After all, they were handing out churros and small cups of corn chowder and chicken tortilla soup to customers in line. Boo yah!
Positives:

1. Definitely the staff. Really, really a standout here.
2. The new under 500 calorie menu.
3. The four (4) hidden parking spots in the back.
Negatives:

1. The location on Kanan (an odd corner and hard to get to).
2. The remodel is basic on the inside; I expected more.
Conclusion:

I had the Double Chicken Avocado salad with the light cilantro dressing for 380 calories, and it was tremendous and filling. For an El Pollo Loco, it’s more than expected overall. I like.

I have been coming to this place since I was in elementary school with my family. That was when it was a bit grungy and quite frankly pretty gross inside. Since the fire, the new interior of the place is amazing. It is bright and vibrant and comes complete with new booths. The chicken tastes better than ever! Service is fast and the staff is friendly!
What I recommend:

Just reopened after a long remodel. The food is as good as other El Pollo Locos, but the physical location is the worst. With any sort of traffic (of which there is a lot) you can only enter by going north on Kanaan. After the drive through, you will very rarely be able to turn left towards Kanaan.
If you go, plan for a lot of extra time. This goes for any store around here.

After waiting in the drive thru for 20 minutes, I arrived at home and realized that my order was not complete. This appears to be an issue at this store since the car that was in front of me in the drive thru line, came back to the window, as her order was also not complete. Fortunate for her that she checked before leaving the parking lot.

Horrible! I checked business hours online through their website and it said 10pm! I arrived at 9:15pm and was advised they weren’t taking orders. Stay true to your hours. Especially if you expect better business after being closed sometime.

Fantastic food (if you like marinated chicken) at a great price. And this location had friendly staff, but it’s been closed for months.

Miss this place terribly… Please open soon!!!

OMG, I just found out there was a fire at my favorite El Pollo Loco. I hope they reopen soon. I went there to get a quick snack and I was so surprised. I had not gone in a while but normally I would go at least once a week. The staff is extraordinarily friendly. They really look happy to be working there and they usually give me nice cold water if I don’t bother to order any thing to drink. They are just very thoughtful that way even at the drive through. I’ve always been impressed by this location.

I literally come here once a week. Sad for my paycheck, great for my stomach. The staff is SO NICE. Very accommodating in terms of special requests. I usually appall chain restaurants (see my Red Lobster review) but, this chain pulls it off and very nicely. Drive thru is also fast! Keep doing what you do because my stomach loves you.

This location is great. The staff is very friendly. They even gave me a free drink once because my order was taking a little longer. I love the tostada and salsa. When I am hunger for Mexican food I go to this location.

Best shrimp tacos ever! I am really glad they are serving up more than chicken here now. Got to love El Pollo Chicken… they should change their name to the Crazy Shrimp!

Very disappointed in a fast food restaurant whenever I do not get silverware for my salads and were a few miles away from there and there’s no turning back at this point. Why is that? If I wanted to even my hands I would’ve got me a hamburger. I wanted to try up a little disappointed once again

Chipotle burrito combo, for fast food their rar great! It was a final touch after a good Surf session and all my friends know I am ready to eat after a surf session burning up every ounce of energy paddling my vehicle.

The employees at this location are fast, friendly and the food here is always good and consistent. At times, they have gotten an order wrong here and there but nothing out of this world. On one occasion, they lost our order and when I brought it up the manager apologized, had our order rushed and gave me a voucher for a free meal on my next visit. Moreover, occasionally they will give us free drinks so as you can see no complaints from me.
Pros: Their food, I have tried several items from their menu and I have never had any complains. Some food is better than other items but it is always hot and good. I specially enjoy the avocado chicken burrito, the cilantro dressing salad, the avocado chicken wrap and their shrimp tacos, which are EXTRA delicious. In addition, what have made a lot of this possible are their coupons that come in the mail so keep an eye out.
Cons:
The location, which makes it hard to get in, harder to find parking due to limited parking and even harder to leave parking lot because the cars from the Drive-​Thru always seem to block your exit. In addition, when it gets busy which is always does during lunch it can get very dirty but the patrons share the blame.

Only went through the drive through, got the chicken avocado burrito (I’m a big fan of this product). Oddly, it didn’t taste the same as when I get it at a different Pollo Loco (the one in Glendale). I didn’t like it as much — they put too much cilantro/​pico de gallo in it (by the way I always omit the avocado cilantro sauce).
Not sure if it was this location but I would prefer to not go back to this one again.
