My daughter needed to rent or buy a violin (6th grade) and we decided to rent after getting information about both options. The staff is very friendly. We have been renting since August 2015 and may but the violin to take advantage of equity on the violin. Now we need to get a flute and obviously went back and again how different options and will probably rent again and take private lessons (for the flute).

Great business. My son needed to get a higher end trombone. According to all characteristics Yamaha should’ve been the ticket but he never played it before and wanted to try it before committing. Guess what: nobody had it in stock. General consensus was: pay two and a half grands and see if you like it… Except for Nick Rail. They located exactly the instrument I was looking for, transferred it to store near me and my son got a chance to try it alongside few other competing instruments, assuring him that that was the right choice. Good for me, good for them to get a nice sale right before closing on Christmas eve ;)

My son recently started taking drum lessons here with John. He is an amazing instructor. Very patient and an awesome drummer to boot. My son looks forward to lessons every week and is improving all the time. Thanks John for all you do. Cole loves it! We definitely recommend John and Nick Rail music to everyone we know

We just discovered Nick Rail because I was not thrilled with prior Music Store in Sherman Oaks. Jill and Radu were extremely knowledgable, patient and helpful with our kids. I am an objective consumer and had a 100% positive experience with this store. I feel the inventory pricing for instrument rental is very reasonable.
We rented few instruments and our kids have been enjoying them for past 2 days. Thank you Radu and Jill!

I am a (n upright) bass student and my teacher recommended that I see the luthier at Nick Rail to get my bass setup. The result was fantastic and the bass sounded better than ever. I have gone back time and again and the luthier, Joe, is nothing but professional and helpful. He says what needs to be done, how much it will cost, and what’s gonna get you the most bang for your buck. He’ll help you get your instrument sound just the way YOU want it to.
Joe is at least as good, if not better than anyone else in the L.A. area.
I can also say that the rest of the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.

I find myself continually impressed with the friendly service and great quality of business at Nick Rail. Every employee has always treated me with the upmost respect and care. You can easily see that these people have a lot heart and passion for what they do, which I feel, is truly important criteria for every business. I would definitely go to back to Nick Rail music with any question or desire to learn an instrument.

My son has been going to Nick Rail for years and thoroughly enjoys the talent and dedication of all of the staff and teachers. Everyone there has always been completely professional. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to buy instruments and/​or learn to play them.
