I have had a horrible experience with the flag football program. I have had children in team sports for over 6 years and never had a worst experience. My 12 year old boy had a good experience with a good coach who involves everyone. My 12 year old has been playing quarterback even though there are athletic children a year older are on the team with more experience. However the coach still has put him in a lot and given him a shot. He has excelled. However, my 10 year old has had the opposite experience. The coach puts him in for a set of downs per half. And every time my 10 year old goes in for those downs, he does great. However, he is on the sidelines almost the entire game. My husband and I have talked to the coach repeatedly. I have spoken to the flag football director and emailed him twice. The reason I am giving ymca the worst review possible is that they did nothing. They let my son continually stand in the sidelines ask to be put in and the coach say things like«not possible.» I am normally very thankful to volunteer coaches and love to contribute to a nice year end gift. I am thankful for their time. This time I wish we hadn’t played. In this case the coach has hurt my sons self confidence and the YMCA didn’t require that he be get anymore playing time. Though I wanted to pull out repeatedly, I tried to teach my son a lesson about quitting. And I tried to be patient and let it work itself out after gentle requests. However, it never improved. My son played on the 4th grade Cowboys by the way.

This review is for the kids swimming lessons at the pool. The lessons are held at Agoura High School. The only bad part for working parents is last lesson starts at 4:30pm. It’s definitely worth it. It does cost a little more than the Y in Thousand Oaks for lessons, but it’s a much closer drive for us. Brittany who runs the swim program here is great and very accommodating to all. One of my kids was in the Eel class and my son was in the Mommy and Me class. Both of them loved it. Have had different teachers and they all have been great! If you have a particular teacher you like or works well with your child, Brittany does her best to have them teach them for the next session. Just wish they had multiple student discount or multiple session discount. Overall, still worth every penny! Much better than Marjeans swim land which was a horrible experience that I don’t ever want to go back! Love the Y! Devyn, my daughters teacher was so good and patient with her and she did very well!

My kids have been coming here for years. They are at day care during the school year and summer camp for summer. The director(Jenn) is awesome. All of the counselors are great and teach the children respect for each other and adults. They have an great program and the price is very reasonable. The kids love it and there is always something wonderful for them to do. Summer camp is great. Weeks include lots of swimming, trips to beach and amusement parks. Best place in town. They take great care of the kids, safety first. Kids love coming there and get to see friends they have not seen in a long time. Like one big play date.

I have been one of the children that was cared for from the years 2004 – 2006. There were 3 runs of different managers. 1st was Matt who was a great and fun person to be around but quit after the first year that I joined. Then came this evil lady who seemed like a witch. She was the 2nd manager. The problem I had with her was that she was way to strict for this job and didn’t treat any of the other kids with respect. After a few gruesome months, she got fired. The third manager, was a relief from the terrifying manager that got fired. The 3rd manager was nice but strict, not too strict, and definitely treated us with respect. Now for the activities. From the years I attended YMCA there wasn’t a lot of opportunities to have any fun. Yes they had books, but nothing interesting. We did watch movies occasionally which was nice. But, the only thing that was really fun going to the YMCA is that we were able to go outside and play in the playground for 30 minutes tops. When snack time arrived, although tasty was an unhealthy meal. The snacks were cream cheese wrapped in a white(not wheat) tortilla and peanut butter wrapped in a white(not wheat) tortilla as well. Hopefully everything that I said were bad improved over last few years after I quit attending in 2006. But for my overall experience, it was pretty damn bad.

I have used this YMCA and this site for several years. They are friendly and helpful. I have never really had any problem with them. My son enjoys his time there and their field trips during the summer. I like that they have early and late pickups. I plan to keep using them for years to come.

I have only used these guys for summer camps, but I found them to be a great group of child care professionals! The kids play outside, take field trips and have computer time. I highly recommend the program for someone that wants cost effective and professional child care.
