Best place to celebrate birthdays, fellowship and just have lots of fun. The food was good and the ice cream was even more awesome. It’s the place to be.

I haven’t eaten here for about three years because I got food poising and was sick for 2 days and was upset when I told them I got food poising and they agree and offered me a free ice cream. This time I was only brave enough to eat ice cream. The kids had shakes and we had cone. The prices are really reasonable at about 2.99 each.

Waiters were nice and the Philly cheesesteak was yummy as well as the double bacon cheeseburger and of course any ice cream you choose is delicious.

What we ordered here was kalua pork cabbage that we sent back because it was served to us «BURNT» I should’ve took a photo but we were really disappointed so we had them take it back. We also ordered a Ruben sandwich as you can see the photo. The Bread was to SOGGYDRENCHEDINBUTTERTASTEDAWFUL!!! I also asked them to have the fries cooked well done/crispy, it came STALE. Last order we got was a club sandwich. Didn’t have mayo which other restaurants add on the bread because that’s what you normally put on a sandwich. Overall disappointed with this place! Never again. Save your money go the gazebo at Macy’s is way better.

Meh. I only came here twice with my BF because he had two BOGO meal free offers that we had to use before they expired. Let me just say, that I am old enough to remember going to the original Farrell’s at Ala Moana as a kid and freaking out every time that siren thing went off whenever there was a birthday celebration. And when I say«freaking out», I mean I was crying and covering my ears whenever it went off… I was like four years old, OK?! That’s the first thing I remember when I think of the old Farrell’s … that, and Big League Chewing Gum… the bubble gum that looked like it was chewing tobacco, except it was pink strips! Anyway, both times we ate there, the food took FOREVER. I’m a patient person, but they were testing me when they decided to take a half hour to serve us our lunch. I thought the first time was a one off, but after the second visit, I was glad knowing that I wouldn’t have to come back here. Ever. I remember having the French Dip the first time, the meat was dry and and not good. I forget what I had the second visit, but it was probably a tad bit better than that horrid French Dip! Come here if you’re with your kid(s), niece, or nephew — just so they can get some subpar food and ice cream. Don’t come here if you want good food served to you in a reasonable amount of time. Go to the Gazebo inside of Macy’s…or even Arby’s. ps: the candy they sell up front now, seems like generic stuff that was bought in bulk… very disappointing.

Love coming here. I noticed that they have some new local items on the menu. It doesn’t have to be your birthday to come here. Usually when my friends and I are in the mall well come and have lunch here. Service is kind of slow but worth the wait.

I will never recommend anyone to go here! It was my first time and i wanted to treat my niece and nephew for some good lunch and ice cream after a short shopping day at the mall. I don’t know why i see a lot of people go here maybe it’s just for the ice cream? We waited almost half an hour to be seated after the guy in the front said it won’t take long. The service was terrible i had to walk up to the counter to get utensils and as i asked one of the waitress kinda rolled her eyeballs at me and slowly taking her time wiping down utensils so i went back to our table coz i had two toddlers and a baby sitting by themselves. We waited for about 20mins to get our water refilled, my niece and nephew didn’t even eat their cheese and pepperoni pizza they said it tasted weird(i rather buy those small frozen pizzas and heat it up). i was so pissed off at how poor their service was with our waitress of no where to be found, i had to walk up to the counter again to get our bill So we ended up having ice cream at baskin robins to make the kids happy. The food is not worth the money we paid for and mainly is POORSERVICE!

The ice cream was good. But you will have some heart attack moments if someone is celebrating a birthday while you’re there, which I’m sure is like an 8⁄10 chance. There is a loud siren that goes off to signal a birthday, and my friend and I were halfway out of our booth thinking there was a fire emergency. Nope, it was a part of their birthday song. Then, the birthday boy had to gallop around the restaurant with a pink pony in between his legs. It was not cute, it was actually quite disturbing. If you dislike someone and want to humiliate them on their birthday, take them here.

I enjoyed this family friendly environment. The staff was friendly and super enthusiastic about their job. The seating was comfortable and not consolidated and the wait time was sufficient for our large party too. Kids menu is fairly priced and the sandwiches in my opinion are your best bet. Prices per adult runs about $ 11.00 a person. The shakes are a little on the thick side. We enjoyed the Philly cheesesteak as our #1 pick. The kids Mac and cheese was extremely plain and the kids weren’t too happy. The pizza though for the kids was on point and tasted similar to chuck e cheese. A couple of disappointments were my onion rings were undercooked and hard to bite into. Best choice for a side were the waffle fries. Also, my son found a hair in his chocolate shake. They replaced it with a new one but he had to wait another 10 minutes and they still charged us. Overall a good experience. Especially for celebrating 2 birthdays.

My son turned 10 and so he wanted to come here. This time around the staff sang happy birthday but with a «we will rock you» twist. It was very cool. Our server looked like a young Matthew mcConaughy. My son really enjoyed his ice cream with his friends.

This place has gone down hill in the last couple of years. The wait for food is way too long for the quality or the cost! They used to show old fashioned black and white cartoons and now show a bunch of unfamiliar pictures! My kids were so bummed. The biggest negative is that they changed from their delicious homemade whip cream to store-bought canned junk. Huge disappointment!

OK– I’m a big kid! If I’m not mistaken Farrell’s has got to be the only ice cream«parlor» in the city. That said, expect an ice cream parlour atmosphere-, singing, clapping, bell ringing ya-da, ya-da, ya-da. Ice cream scoops, splits, bowls, floats, sundaes and let me not forget the ZOO. There are many toppings to choose from staring with syrups ending with sprinkles and nuts. Each ice cream order is always carte with a price list for each add on after the«scoop» They serve sandwiches, burgers and to my surprise a couple«local» dishes. During my visit, they had Kalua Pork and Cabbage over rice as th daily special. Simply amazing to find a local dish in your typical«ice cream parlour» IF it’s your birthday and you are over 21 years of age, you can order a scoop of ice cream, with 1 candle compliments of Farrell’s. Be warned! They will ring the bells as they rush the scoop to you followed with a cute song by all the employees. A place to go IF you’re craving authentic«ice cream parlour atmosphere

In what could only be described as a sudden surge of nostalgia, my wife insisted we take a little snack break here. The Farrell’s we grew up with closed a super long time ago but someway somehow, my wife’s fond memories of the place lives on. So much so, I’m thinking she was hoping our little one would get the same kinda kick she had here when she went as a little kid. The two things I remember about Farrell’s was 1) that you got a free dessert if you said it was your birthday and 2) there were some rather disconcerting stories about how the food was being handled(if you know what I’m saying). Anyways, I’d like to say that the visit sparked a treasured memory of high school days gone by that were marked with moments of merriment and ice cream. I really really like to say that but simply can’t. I did see a group of teens shaming a birthday celebrant to gallop around the restaurant on a stick horse. It actually brought a smile to my face. I can also say that the Kona coffee shake was pretty good.

I have walked past this place many many times throughout my trips to Pearlridge over the past few years, but finally decided to give it a try this past Saturday. I have to say that this place looked really fun… The servers are always singing and making a big deal out of stuff that people order, and there is always a crowd inside. The food must be good right? Sadly, no. I ordered the turkey pesto melt, and hubby ordered the patty melt. I am a huge fan of pesto and have yet to try a pesto I didn’t like, until now… I bit into a pine nut every five seconds and it tasted like it had mustard mixed into it. Kinda ruined the sandwich to the point I couldn’t even finish it. Hubbys patty melt was the complete opposite, as it had hardly any flavor at all. Very expensive also. I do realize that this place specializes in ice cream dishes… So perhaps we will give it a second chance, but only for dessert.

Cute place to go with kids for burger, fries and ice cream. Not a great place for a big crowd. Seems like they have too many table and chairs for this establishment. The staff are rushing so not aware of their surroundings maybe it’s just not a good place to go on a Saturday at the mall, but we came when they first open at 11!!! One of the staff pushed over my friend’s child and good thing my friend’s baby wasnt in the car seat because she almost knocked the car seat over. The wait for the food was also long and wasn’t too tasty.

Well worth it if you have a birthday or special occasion! They’ll give you a free signature Farrell’s Sundae. Placed in the era before Johnny Rockets(1950s), Farrell’s is set up like a 1920s Midwestern saloon. Fun for kids and adults of all ages, they’re most famous for their ice cream Sundaes. For lunch I had their Aloha burger, but switched it out for chicken. My wife enjoyed their oriental salad and the clam chowder soup. For the Sundae I had a root beer float and my wife had a chocolate shake. The quality of their ice cream wasn’t as I expected. It wasn’t very creamy and tasted rather cheap and artificial. They also did not have a lot of flavors, in particular pralines and cream. The gastrodelicatessanepicurean sandwich looked good and large from what I saw someone else order. Eat that on an empty stomach!

I ended up in here because I pass by it all the time when I’m at Pearlridge, I think it looks cute from the outside, and I was sure this was the type of place to have a root beer float, something I was craving. My son and I walk in and it’s like an old timey candy store. All the old candy you cannot get was available for very inflated prices, and it immediately gets your kid(s) excited about stuff you don’t want to buy them. After waiting around for several minuets someone finally ask us if we’re there to eat. Uh, nope, just wanted to stare at the candy while my kid begs me over and over for bubble gum. «yes» I replied. We were sat and they gave us a menu that looked like a news paper. Most of the options on there are desserts. A few salads, sandwiches and burgers, but the rest are floats, malts, shakes, & sundaes. I saw that Unilocal offered a free sundae with a check in, so I decided to use it. I’m pregnant, I can be gluttonous if I want from time to time. I also decided I NEEDED a chili cheese dog and fries. I was talking to my son about the weekend and how we were going to be celebrating his birthday and so he needed to tell me what presents he wanted. The waitress overheard this convo when walking by apparently, more on that in a min, While waiting the exorbitantly long time for my hot dog to come, 7 children were apparently there to celebrate birthdays. This is done by the entire staff ringing bells, banging drums, yelling, screaming and then singing, acapella, to the birthday recipient while handing them a sundae. I thought this was the most annoying thing EVER and my son thought it was the greatest thing in the world. He would clap and sing and yell«HAPPYBIRTHDAY, PERSON!» each time. So you can only imagine his excitement level when they came out to OUR table with the sundae and sang to him. My hot dog was edible, but it was seriously underwhelming. Nothing special, it was the type of dog you make when you’re having a party, need to feed 20+ people on the cheap and want to be lazy about it. Not worth $ 9. Other than my son’s sheer pleasure of this place, I wasn’t impressed. The food was blah, and the service was sorta slow, which our waiter kept apologizing for. It’s also loud as shit. I wouldn’t rush back here.

When I tried to think of a great place to CELEBRATE my friend’s birthday, Farrell’s immediately came to mind. I wanted to make sure he got the extra loud special to celebrate his 51st birthday! I hadn’t eaten here in YEARS, so the food items weren’t at the forefront of my memory. The only thing I remembered about this place was that they know how to throw it down when it comes to recognizing someone’s special day. First thing that caught my attention when we sat down was their menu. It’s like a newspaper! Lots of different food items to offer, but no pictures. *sad face* No problem… that’s what Unilocal is for! Haha… They also had a few specials to offer at the time(which included pictures). They offer appetizers, sandwiches, salads, burgers, and even some plate lunch style dishes. One page is dedicated to their desserts(e.g., sundaes, HUGE party desserts, floats, shakes). The next thing that caught my attention was the enormously priced and sized desserts that they offer. When there’s a special occasion being celebrated, this place makes sure that EVERYONE dining here knows it. They bang a drum and ring a LOUD bell to announce what’s going on. Then all the servers gather together to announce the special person and what’s being celebrated. This specific party that we witnessed were celebrating two birthdays. Their group ordered the Mauna Kea Hot Fudge Volcano($ 49.99). It comes with 30 scoops of vanilla ice cream and is covered with whipped cream, chopped almonds, and maraschino cherries. If you have a big party, it’s worth ordering these giant desserts. As I looked over the menu, there was nothing that really caught my eye. Even the pictures on Unilocal didn’t help to coerce me into anything. My friend ordered the Corned Beef sandwich and I ordered one of the specials — pulled pork sandwich with furikake fries. My friend seemed to enjoy his sandwich. When I got my order, it came with plain fries. I had to ask one of the servers if it was supposed to come with furikake fries like in the picture. She said that they made a mistake and would come with a plate of the furikake fries. Overall, my order was nothing to rave about. The pulled pork was nothing great… kinda dry actually. The BBQ sauce kind of missed many parts of the pork… wished it had been mixed up better. The furikake fries were not at all what I expected. It was just regular fries with this creamy mustard tasting sauce over it and furikake sprinkled on top. My friend finished his food before me and one of the servers came to ask if we were ready for dessert. I told her that it was my friend’s birthday, so he would be getting one. She asked if he wanted it now or later when I was finished. He graciously said he would wait. When another server came by when I was finished and asked about whether we wanted desserts, I again reminded them that it was my friend’s birthday, so to please bring out his birthday dessert. It took a really long time for them to bring out his birthday sundae. I’m not sure why it took so long because it wasn’t a huge dessert. It was a scoop of ice cream with whipped cream, sprinkles, a Nilla wafer, and a maraschino cherry on top. They made him stand up and tell everyone his name. They then asked him if he knew how to sing the Happy Birthday song backwards. He said he didn’t, so they showed him. The servers turned around and started singing the song. Cute! We got a different song from the other group. I’m not sure how many different birthday songs they have, but that impressed me that they try to make each experience a unique one for the guests. I don’t think I would come back here for the food. Maybe to embarrass… oops, I mean CELEBRATE someone’s special day with a group to get one of those gigantic desserts… but definitely not for the food. Couple of offers to note about this place: 1. The iDcard is accepted here. The discount is buy one entrée, get the second entrée 51% off. 2. If you check in with Unilocal, you get a free sundae. 3. If it’s your birthday, they give you a small sundae with an extra loud attention catching song! ** You can’t combine iDcard and Unilocal discount together… but you can get a birthday dessert and use one of the discounts

Our local Farrell’s is now run by corporate(According to the wait staff) as the local franchise owner dropped out. As a result the Disney films are gone from the main dining space and a few other changes have occurred that you might notice coming in. Firstly the front area has been de-cluttered, the shelving with the toys and candy have been pushed back against the entryway wall making it much easier to navigate that area, the space is much more open both because the shelves are gone and because the children looking at the toys are no longer milling about in the small aisle-like walkway that the shelves used to create. The menu is also going through some changes to more closely reflect the mainland ones.. .well to be totally honest it’s being replaced /by/the mainland ones. These new menus are pretty cool, you get a newsprint menu that has some games on the back for the youngins you bring with you and when you’re done you can take it home later. The cook style seems to have improved since my last review, the last burger I had was great, seasoned really well and nice and juicy. It’s still the same great place. Watch this review because it will likely update as the last of the menu changes are put into play.

Such a fun atmosphere! I took my Niece & my Mom to lunch & we were pretty pleased with everything. We were very close to passing this place up for the nearby noodle shop because that’s what my Niece asked for. When walking by, we saw that they served saimin so we decided to head back & give Farrell’s a shot. The hostess sat us at one of the booths directly parallel to the mall hall foot traffic(lol), so we got to do a lot of people watching & they got to see us eat. Yay! Our waitress was very friendly, helpful, and prompt. She brought us our beverages & some witty banter that I enjoyed. She was also very patient with us as we figured out what we wanted to order. Like I mentioned, my niece wanted noodles(specifically saimin), but they were out! Fortunately a cheese pizza had sufficed. My Mom ordered a loco moco with fried rice, which tasted pretty ok. I just thought that the hamburger needed to be a bit more tender as it was kinda tough. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger that came with a side of crispy and deliciously seasoned fries. The burger was huge & really yummy(tender too). To end, we had a kona coffee shake and my Niece got the free classic sundae( Unilocal Check-in Offer). Great meal, service, & entertainment. We absolutely loved their little song & dance for birthday boys & girls! They all put so much effort into it & it truly shows.
