The fried chicken is da best! You get 3 pieces of chicken when you order the plate, and it can’t fit on 1 plate, so 1 piece gets served on the side. :) Good value for your money. They serve breakfast anytime. The owners are super nice and accommodating.

Not bad for a small restaurant so on my scale for«hole in the wall» type places this was a great family run restaurant. Cash only, nice small place, kinda hard to find. Good prices and won’t need to spend more than $ 20 – 30 for a family of four. All dishes are below $ 10 and are fairly priced. The food was in large portions and was enough to feed two people for lunch. The meat itself was really good and had a large variety of meat types.

They were open on Christmas Day! Saved my butt cause I didn’t have breakfast ready and the horde was starving! If they read this, thank you for working on Christmas and I’m sorry you have to. But I hope you make a killing off of people like me in sales!

So glad we listened to the reviews and so glad we didn’t eat at the stadium. Really good food. Lots of it. Great prices.

I’ve been coming here since highschool and I graduated many many moons ago. LOL I this place is family owned and has a mom a pop vibe to it. The food here is GREAT and cheaper than your L&L’s and Loco Moco’s. I also catered from here a few times as well. The only down side is this place is cash only.

How can you go wrong when you can get three filling lunches for less than $ 20?!? Food was good, service was fast, and great customer service. I’m just glad I found this place since my go to place in Aiea is closed on Sundays. I’ll be back for sure!

I ordered the beef curry. The meat was tender the way beef curry should be. I would order this again. The place only has three booths that seat four at each booth, and a side table that seats two. Family-owned eatery that is very friendly.

Great hole in the wall, family run place that we stumbled upon since it was next to aiea manapua. Awesome food… Love their katsu and fried chicken! Prices are super affordable! The owners are also very friendly. Highly recommend this place!

Two things about this place make it five stars instead of four: — the owners are awesome and take care of you like you are family friends over for dinner. — you can spend 8 bucks and get two meals worth the food. Seriously, if you don’t want leftovers don’t get a mix plate, it’s a huge amount of food. I love the Garlic chicken, super light reading, great flavor. My mom loved the beef curry and mochiko chicken. Wouldn’t necessarily et the short ribs again, flavor was good but a bit chewy. Could be an off day, or just a bad cut, but for the price this is a great spot!

A small and unassuming place near the old Aiea Library, M&M serves great tasting and very affordable local style food! This place reminds me of the kind of food I would always look forward to eating after school. I had the combo plate with Beef Stew and Chicken Katsu. Holy cow! I could have had three meals out of that one plate. The food was also really tasty as well. The owners are really nice and it’s great to see that they are still around after all these years. To get a large and great tasting plate lunch for only $ 7 to $ 8 is almost unheard of these days. Definitely will be back!

The family who owns this restaurant work very hard and deserve the credit for making great food. They are great cooks and are very nice and give good service! This place is one of the best restaurants for a quick dine in for breakfast or lunch. Try their Bentos and mixed plates! I have been getting Bento #2 since I can remember, I must’ve ordered 1000 Bento #2s in my lifetime. It is probably the only thing I get at this place other than Bento #1 or Bento #3. But all their food is great! Make sure to get their number in your speed dial if you are ordering a quick takeout before work or for lunch and dinner. This is a great place to do catering too. Their menu list is extensive and worth trying out different things. Make sure to grab one of their takeout menus while you are there! When you have a hard working family who cares about what they are doing with their business it shows. This place feels like home! I’ve been coming here for years ever since I was little and this place is still one of my favorite places to go to. Will always come back!

Seriously, I’m a picky eater and I think the food here SMOKES Aiea Heights Drive In. Their Chicken Katsu is WAAAYYYYYY tastier and fresher, with it prepared fresh and the batter always crisp. Aiea Heights Katsu batter is always soggy and bleh. About the only thing I still go to Aiea Heights for is their fried noodles. Other than that, THIS family owned & operated hole in the wall restaurant is much much better…

This is going to be super simple. This place does BBQ(hawaiian) right. No gimmicks, no flashy menus, nothing super fancy. Of all the places I’ve tried during my stay, M&M is top notch. Only 2 tables are located inside and a couple outside, so seating is limited. Wifey had a mixed platter with fried chicken and Portuguese sausage with egg, I opted for spam and hamburger patty w/gravy. Food came out quick, everything was just on point. Everything was cooked perfectly, for something simple like over easy egg and meat, thats HUGE. But yes, this place is cash only, but 9 bucks will cover ya for food and drink. A little hidden gem this place is. Customer service is to the point with no extra pleasantries. i just think the dude’s a little shy. Rock on, M&M.

I had the Loco Moco and it was pretty good. Hubs didn’t like his BBQ chicken… He asked if it was«shredded», the lady said yes, and he instead got cut up chicken chunks in bbq sauce. He also got very fatty portions, which he doesn’t eat. Oh well. Gave it a try bc of all the great reviews. Can’t beat the prices, though, very reasonable!

Love love love this place. I’ve been going here for years. If you are looking for one of those whole-in-the-wall food places, then this is a really good place. It’s family run and the owner is really nice. She always asks to make sure if your order is correct and if everything is okay when you eat in. I love burgers and burgers now are so expensive, but their burgers are so good and cheap. Their patties are bigger than some other fast food places. I really recommend eating here if you are looking for somewhere cheap. I’ve taken all my friends who haven’t been here before and they all love it! :) Always and forever a loyal customer!

Call it my bucket list of food. I like to hit up every decent looking food place around where I live before it’s time for me to move again. M&M satisfied that requirement when we were«fall cleaning» the house.(This is Hawaii. No one said it had to be in spring.) Located by Aiea Public Library and Aiea Manapua, good luck finding parking. Don’t even chance parking behind the building. There is a security guard specifically hired to patrol that lot. I was underwhelmed, but I might not have the acute plate lunch senses everyone else here has. I ordered the garlic shrimp mini. It came with one small scoop of rice and mac salad and 5 pieces of shrimp. Luckily as a small person, that was more than enough for me. My husband instantly felt guilty about suggesting the mini when I opened the styrofoam packaging. He ordered the lemon chicken. Without the lemon sauce, the chicken tastes like the bad portions of the chicken were purposefully picked out, breaded and fried. The lemon sauce makes it palatable, but not enough to return. I can cross this off my list now and move on…

I am almost tempted to not write a review for M&M because I want to keep this Aiea gem a secret, but the food is just too amazing to keep it to myself! Typical of most Mom and Pop diners, the menu is an extensive list of home-cooked local favorites. I LOVE the grilled ahi plate. The fish is always fresh and grilled perfectly and the Mac Salad should be called Crack Salad instead. It’s addictive! I also love their chicken katsu! It’s so tender and they slice it up in perfect bite-size strips. One of my pet peeves is too large chicken katsu slices. You should be able to eat your plate lunch while sitting in the parking lot at Aloha Stadium with ONE hand, not two. Parking is very limited in this tiny lot, but since there is not too much seating, the cars tend to turnover pretty quickly. It is definitely a favorite tailgate catering spot, so make sure you are ready to brave the crowded lot on game days!

***4.5 stars*** hubby and i came to hawaii knowing that we definitely wanted to try a local hang out spot with no frills and reasonable price tags. thanks to Unilocal,we found this place not too far from pearl harbor, where we were spending the day visiting. this little hole-in-the-wall is located in a small shopping center in aiea, about a mile north of the pearl harbor visitors’ center. upon walking in, we saw just a few booths and tables, specials on the wall, and a small counter with menus and the cashier taking orders. this is one of the places were you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. i ordered the bbq chicken plate, which came with chicken teriyaki, a scoop of white rice, and green salad. i also ordered one egg over easy on the side, for extra protein. the chicken was quite good, very juicy and tasty. i’m not usually a bbq chicken fan, but the lady told me that it was the same as teriyaki, and right she was, since it tasted exactly like teriyaki sauce on grilled chicken. the white rice was your typical white rice, which went great with the teriyaki sauce. the green salad wasn’t anything special, just some lettuce with one slice of tomato. although i will say that the single slice was very fresh, tasted like it was just sliced off a tomato that was freshly picked off a farm. and the egg? it was perfect, folded over easy with a thin layer of egg white over a perfectly cooked yolf, still 100% runny, the way i like it! best of all, this delicious meal only cost me $ 5.80(not incl tax & tip)! for the amount and quality of food, this price was unreal and i would definitely return for another lunch plate. note that they take cash only. also advise parking in the small lot right in front of the restaurant, since we parked in the back of the restaurant/building and were asked to move our car.
