All 3 of my kids have been going to Dr. Sumida since birth, with the oldest one turning 17 this year. Dr. Sumida has been the best Pediatrician we could ask for. His popularity and following is immense… which results in having to make physician appointments 3 months in advance(which is the only negative. Since he belongs to practice, there’s always a back-up in place in case of an emergency. They also are open on Sunday mornings for those urgent appointments you need at times. The practice also converted to the EPIC electronic patient record which is AWESOME. Not sure if he’s accepting new patients but if we had to do it all over again, no doubt in my mind we would go with Dr. Sumida!

Look no further. Dr. Sumida is the best pediatrician for your children. When my daughter gets sick, he personally calls me to give me lab results or to check on her. I don’t know very many doctors that do that. When my girls get sick, they ask for him by name. He has the best bed side manner! My husband loves him… he has a way of making you feel comfortable. He’s very approachable and will answer all your questions.

Dr. Ryan… what more can I say. He is the model pediatrician anyone could want! My kids have been seeing Dr. Ryan since my oldest was born in 1991. Then as each new bundle of joy arrived there was no question of looking for another doc. Because he has seen our family grow it’s like he’s a part of our family. He has seen all the injuries, illnesses, growing pains, etc. and never once made us feel like we were taking up too much time asking«new parent» questions. So my oldest finally came back for a short visit from San Francisco, so I tried in vain to schedule a physical w/Dr. Ryan knowing he’s already booked out 3 months at a time, so Dr. Ogawa(senior) saw my son and did the check up. Dr. Ogawa stated that since my son is 20 yrs. old he should see an adult doc and it went something like this: Dr. O: Ok, now that you’re a man you should think of finding your own doctor. Son: What? Why can’t I come here anymore? Dr O: It’s not that we don’t want you here but, you’re needs are changing and you are an adult. Son: So, are you telling me I can’t get anymore appts here? I have to find my OWN doc in San Fran? Dr. O: Basically, YES! Son:(Looking bummed) Well, I’ll look into that. So last week my yougest got sick and I took her into to see Dr. Ryan. I told him about the exchange with doc Ogawa and my son and he said, «no worry, I’ll still see him for a couple more yrs. as long as he’s not bringing in his own kids for check ups!» Then I had to give him a hug because he understands how hard it is to cut the umbical cord! WELOVE Dr. Ryan!
