I don’t get to Akron, Ohio often between March and October when this drive-in is open, but when I do, I definitely make one or two stops here. I always get a couple spanish dogs(which are just regular dogs with a sloppy joe-type of meat sauce that perfectly compliments the hot dog, with no extra condiments necessary). The root beer was also awesome. Home made and served in a frosty mug. The fries were pretty standard fries but they were good as well. My only complaint is that being a drive-in, this place is not open year round. Also, parking is pretty bad though there usually are not many cars here. There is a table to sit out at if you don’t want to be stuck in your car as well. There are copycat recipies for the sauce online however I don’t believe any of them do justice to the real thing. For example, all of the recipies call for diced onions, yet when we asked at the restaurant we were told there were no onions in the sauce, as my girlfriend has an onion allergy. For the money, you can’t beat it. We had 2 spanish dogs and a large root beer each, split an order of fries as well, and the cost was under $ 10. I’ve been some places where the meal for just me costs more than that.

If I didn’t know B & K Drive-In made their own root beer, I would never have stopped here. And if I didn’t know what I was looking for, I may never have found it. The place is very small and does not have a lot of parking. I cannot comment on the food as I only stopped here for a half gallon of root beer. The root beer was given to me in a plain plastic half gallon jug. No need to be fancy. The taste, though, I’m not so sure of. At first, it tastes like root beer but then… there’s a weird after taste. Almost like… dirt? Maybe the lines need to be cleaned. Maybe not. Two stars because they do make their own root beer and because curbside service was fast and friendly.
