Let me start by saying, one star is too much for this rating! The first purchase my fiancé bought at Jared’s was my engagement ring. The ring is a Neil Lane and we had to have it sized. About a week after I got my ring a stone fell out. They had to order me a whole new band because the Neil Lane rings are not supposed to be sized. The lady who helped me acted like it was my fault the stone fell out. The biggest problem we had was with my wedding band. The engagement ring we bought did not have a matching band so we had to either custom make one or find one that would fit. We found one that fit and the girl said she could match the engraving and add extra diamonds to make it match. When I went to pick up the ring they didn’t do the engraving so I had to leave it again. When I called a week later, they couldn’t even find my order! I finally go my ring back and it looked horrible! I don’t know what they did but the custom work was garbage. They wouldn’t take it back or even try to fix it. When I called their corporate service line they didn’t care either. To fix the ring, we took it to an independent jeweler. They were going to take the stones and make a new ring. Well, the stones were such low quality he wouldn’t put them in the new band. We had to start completely new. I have never experienced such bad customer service. I will never go back to Jared’s and will continue to tell everyone I know how awful this company is.

My dude and I make fun of Jared’s on a pretty regular basis. The commercials are just so annoying and corny that it is hard to resist. We drove down to Akron to go a specific couple of jewelry stores, but discovered that they were all closed for the day by 4. We gave Jared’s a call to see if they were open and they were, so we figured it wouldn’t hurt to take a look and know their prices so that we could price compare later. We had no intentions of buying a ring at a major chain. Upon entering the store, we were immediately greeted and set up with a sales associate who was very friendly and not pushy at all. I knew exactly what I wanted, so we listened to her presentation on the 4 C’s, the different guarantees that Jared offers, and about the history of that particular store being the first ever Jared’s. I told her what I wanted which was an emerald cut diamond set in a white gold band with tapered baguettes and double claw prongs. Her face lit up and she told us she had to double check something. She returned moments later with the exact setting that I wanted and it was on clearance for 75% off! We knew right then that we would be buying the setting that day, since the price was so great, but still planned on buying a diamond elsewhere later. We still wanted to take a look at the loose diamonds while in the store and I was very impressed with their selection of emerald cuts, as well as the paperwork provided for each stone. In addition, the pricing was VERY fair considering that Jared is a chain and we expected the pricing to be kind of ridiculous. We ended up purchasing a stone that night at the store as well. Jared offers a lifetime guarantee that includes free sizing and adjustments for life and as long as you bring your ring back every 6 months to be inspected, they will replace the center stone no questions asked if it ever falls out and is lost. The other stores that we were considering didn’t offer the same guarantees. And with me being as disaster prone as I am, I figured that they would probably come in handy. We came back a few months later and bought my wedding band here as well. The customer service was great and we were very happy over all. I’ve had my ring resized once and I was able to drop it off for two hours and then come back and get it the same afternoon, which was lovely!
