Lovely! Getting ready for wedding and she make awesome job on my hair! Hair lights! And we were trying some styles! She knows wHt she’s doing!

I have been a client of Mona’s sincec 2009. Mona cuts styles, and colors my hair I ALWAYS have received nothing but awesome hair services but her customer service skills are whats makes this place exceptional. Not only are her prices, reasonable but her hair care product selection is diverse. Mona’s also offers accessories and out of the norm keepsakes and that makes her somewhat off the beaten path, location colorfully exciting, and a great experience! I receive so many compliments on my hair, I will offer a card to ANYONE who is interested!

Once again Mona performed yet, another masterpiece on me. Last month I made the mistake of going to someone else for half price, only because I am on a budget. But trying to save money, I end up spending more. Anyway, this chick who did it for half price gave me an awful hair color. The bottom half was fine because I stopped her before she could get down there and so what she had done on the top, which was supposed to be platinum highlights turned brassy strawberry orange. Ugh! It was horrible. But Mona fixed it. Yayyyyy. I love it, it looks awesome. The highlights are subtle on my back to my original natural brown color. She’s not done yet. I go in later this week so she can put the platinum on both cowlicks around my face. Post more later. Thanks Mona. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. You need someone to fix your crappy hairdye job, Mona is your hairstylist for the job. She knew JUST what to do.

Been going to Mona for years. Like much of Alameda, her salon is a bit of a time warp. She is friendly, patient and has a rare ability to bond with people of all ages and backgrounds. Mona does a great job. Support local business and go to Mona.

Mona’s is the BOMB. Was walking past my printer and PO box place and she was talking to the printer when I mentioned I was going to get my haircut. She said «I can cut your hair». I was going to the «Barber» nearby because I just didn’t want to pay $ 50 plus tip at the swanky place in town. They always did a good job but I don’t need to pay for the chrome and hip music… Barber; hit or miss. Monas asked what I was paying? I told her and she said that’s what I charge. Figured I would give it a shot. She did just as good a job as the more expensive place. Plus she’s walking distance and I got all kinds of Alameda gossip and lore. She could use some help decorating and with her signage because it’s a little cluttered and not so easily visible if your not looking for her. Also does not look so upscale and trendy/​flashy so she’s probably not drawing a certain crowd. She’s a real local character but the proof is in the final product which was excellent.

Absolutely love this place for haircuts, it’s kinda like a hole in the wall kind of shop… if she didn’t pass out her business cards in person I would have never known about this golden jewel of shop.
Mona, the owner is very good at her cuts, she is the only one who cuts hair, no other workers! Definitely support her work! Should always call ahead, she is typically booked, but walk in is acceptable. Mona is very down to earth, easy to talk with, never a dull moment and always remember names.
She cuts my hair exactly the way I want and how I described; her recommendations and input are good, quite skilled+ knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend, because I switched a lot of shops, but i been going to her for the last year and plus six months because she does such a excellent job for cutting mens hair! Despite being designated salon for women.

Love Mona! Everything from her warming attitude to her skill of doing hair. Came here for the first time today spontaneously. Needed a major fix on my poorly bleached hair and she transformed it into a beautiful caramel mixture of blonde and brown. Highly recommended hair solan in Alameda.

I find this saloon as a sociable excellent fashion to discuss the hair style before we get started on cutting my hair. A must go. «It takes different folks for different strokes:». Keep this woman busy. She is a delight and gives you the European look as the unique different style people look in a style of hair design. She has a bit of everything and anything you can think of as a person. This Shop is a treat. I feel like a little kid getting my complete goodies going there to cut and style my hair.

Mona will give you the best recommendation of cut and color which a color stylist would charge a couple hundred for. She is hip on current styles and will take the time to teach you how to style your cut and different ways to make it look fresh.

Mona, wow what a gal! She treats you like family the moment she meets you! I love Mona. If she had a facebook page, she would have thousands of fans. When you walk inside her salon you can’t help but feel at home. I don’t even live in Alameda, or the east bay for that matter, but now that I have met Mona I know I’ll be back if for nothing more than excellent conversation :)

My sister and I have been going to Mona ever since we were little kids — I moved away to college but still wait until i go home on breaks to get my hair cut here! Always pleased with the cuts and it is always a great experience.

Mona is really amazing. She never messes up and she may not get the exact haircut you want done for you, but she gets the haircut that will definitely look best on you. She has a really good eye and she’s a great conversationalist. This place is full of personality. I really would recommend this! :)
