Been going to Pagano’s for decades at the old Lincoln location. Was sad to see them move but so glad they are still here in Alameda.(The South Shore location never felt the same) Great advice and instructions on how to do many things around the house. Having reliable knowledgable staff available to answer questions is a value no big box store can offer.

What’s there not to like about Pagano’s? Sure I miss the old location, but the new location is well lit and the staff are super helpful.

Time: 2:37pm/86°F sunny Purpose: Carol C told me they’ve move from their Lincoln Street location. Since I went to Tea Delight, I wanted to check it out also. Set-up: Neighborhood hardware store with all things for home improvement. The paint department is located next to Tea Delight, but it’s part of Pagano’s too. Staff: A few old timers greeted me within seconds of entering. Told them just browsing for now, if I need something, I’ll come looking. They said very well suit yourself. Cleanliness: Grade A, this is a no hardware store. A place that sell products to remedy sanitation situation. Well kept, they’ve supplies on hand to clean up with no excuse. Bagging It: Pocket size box cutter $.99, set of mini torx and +/-screwdriver $ 4.99 and traveling groom kit $ 1.49. Products/Services: Key duplicate, paint, home, garden, lumber, piping, kitchen, bath, bedroom, home improvement, electrical, lock, auto, storage, BBQ, ventilation etc. Punch Lines: Easy lot parking, clean, organized, wide aisle, friendly service, knowledgeable, well stock, assorted models, house to brand name, helpful recommendations, free popcorn. Tradeoffs: May not carry all the items of bigger box stores, but carry enough of the basic to begin with. Final Thoughts: Back when I was a kid my parents always pulls me along to ACE store. Seems so much of a daunting task and wasted time for me. I rather be somewhere playing video games and sipping soda. Kids stuff right? Now an adult with responsibility. I’m coming here because sometimes I do need a part. I like browsing around home improvement shops, you never know what sales or specials you might run into. Usually those wire bins out front has a good deal like $ 1.99 for a sturdy hammer. I don’t need it, but would eventually buy it because of price. Impulse shopping is not good too.

Not the original location(since they sadly closed) but still a great, cramped, walk side ways down the isles, filled to the brim, find stuff you didn’t even know existed but gotta have, kind of store. Has a M&P feel, wonderful staff, never rushed, bit pricy on somethings, hard to find items are usually here along with a large variation of the things at the big box store with the orange aprons… with out the hassle of a big box store.

had my screen door re-screened and it took them 7days when I got home with it I found out they never replaced the wheels, didn’t clean off his fingerprints from the frame when he was done and had the gall to charge $ 40. Never had a problem when they did it at the Lincoln store. Very disappointed with their services now that they moved. What happen.

Paganos on Lincoln was an amazing store, they carried a large array of items that are not easily found at a big box hardware store. In an old town like Alameda having access to odd ball items that old houses require(mainly plumbing, electrical and reproduction Victorian era hardware) was indispensable. Sure it was pricey but it was worth it for the convenience. Now that they have moved, they have done away with those hard to find items and have become a run of the mill shopping center hardware store. The Lincoln Ave location was an Alameda landmark, it will be missed.

The new location of this store shows some improvement. It’s hard to give five stars yet as they still do not have a new inventory, so many services and products are not available. I loved the old store and am optimistic this one will be as good and better soon.

Date: 6÷5÷2015 Time: 11:30AM69° sunny Purpose: My husband and I were at Laundry Time washing our clothes. I also stopped in at Lee’s Donuts to get a donut… all sold out, but I did purchase a croissant. Then it was over to Phở Baguette to get a taro smoothie with boba. I’m just spreading my wealth in this strip mall. I don’t do Bonfare, so no stopping in that business. While waiting for our loads of laundry to be cleaned, I decided to walk over to Pagano’s to take a look-see. Their employees were unloading some of their merchandise. Pagano’s Hardware Mart has moved from 1100 Lincoln Avenue, Alameda, to this location — 640A Central Avenue. I do not believe I should be the recipient and/or deserve the FTR for this business, as I feel it is not fair to all other Unilocalers who had reviewed this business at its prior address. I just want that noted. Ambiance: Double glass door entrance. In front of business, garden supplies, plants and equipment are displayed. Garden soil advertised for $ 5.00. Kingsford charcoal displayed to the left of the garden soil. Popcorn cart is several feet away from front entrance. A sign is also posted that the paint store is across the way at 640 F(correct address is 650 F — see photo). This location is not as spacious as their previous one. There is no second floor. All cement floor throughout the store. The aisles are wide. Cash register/check out stand also in front of entrance. Customer service: As always, excellent. Cashier in front greeted me immediately and radioed Scarlett to help me out with my inquiry. I am in the market to purchase a power screwdriver with a flathead and phillips drill bits. They do carry them and she recommended the Black and Decker model at a price of $ 29.99. Great! My husband and I will be back to purchase it. Parking: More parking spaces available in this strip mall available compared to previous location. Public transportation: AC #20. Stop heading to Oakland is in front of 1400 Grill on Webster Street. Stop heading to South Shore is in front of O’Reillys on Central Avenue. Even though I did return to purchase the power screwdriver, I saw something that was useful — a peachy clean silicone scrubber for my nonstick skillets for $ 7.99. This product is Made in the USA. It is mildew resistance, it does not carry an odor and it is safe on pots and pans. It is better than a sponge. Welcome, Pagano’s to the west end of Alameda. I’m glad your store is at this location. It’s convenient and close to my home.
