Their Jiu Jitsu program is new and definitely not your traditonal Brazilian Jiu Jitsu School. It’s taught by 3 people Erico — a Brazilian Black Belt, Brad — a traditional Small Circle Jiu Jitsu stylist, and his daughter Chelsea — a Brazilian purple belt. I sat in on an adult class and both Erico and Brad both wound up teaching half the class. It’s an odd mix because half the class is dedicated to traditional standup Jiu Jitsu and then the later half is on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu(BJJ). At this point neither instructor is a black belt of the other’s style so as Erico was teaching the BJJ class Brad would practice BJJ with Chelsea and vice versa. Don’t get me wrong, they are all very knowledgeable in their own diciplines. It’s an extremely non competitive environment for adults who are just starting out and have never had any martial arts training. Suffice to say the students here won’t be winning any tournaments but nor would they want to. Typically students here don’t roll/spar on a regular basis as in other Brazilian jiu-jitsu studios. They are really good with small kids. Classes are very small and cozy. Ive started bringing my daughter here and she loves it. BTW… They are a bit hard to find as they are in the very back of the property and up a flight of stairs.
